Hi Kathy,

I'm so sorry to hear about your cancellation. I have an idea.

Often surgeons will have operating privileges at several hospitals.

Have you asked your Dr. if there is another hospital that he can do

surgery? If that doesn't work could he try to get temporary

privileges at another hospital.

It's worth a try especially since you were already scheduled.

I agree with , you need to contact the doctor and ask what other

hospital he can switch you at. Just because he can't do the surgery

at this hospital doesn't mean that he's given up either. I of course

become a rabid dog at the unjustice MO's have to deal with. Get out

your poision pen honey and start a letter writing campaign. Write a

letter to the editor of your local paper, heck give us the address to

the local paper and all of us here at the list will send letters to

the editor " letter of outrage at the hospitals policy of

discontinuing the surgery " . It may not help you get the surgery but

then you have nothing to lose. This hospital may make an exception

just to shut you up. We can all copy the hospital administrator on

the letter to the editor as well. You can also send him clippings of

the editorials. Am I a bad influence or what!

that old saying that none gets more than thay can handle isn't right

for this situation is it?!! What a bummer. Sounds unfair to me. Does

the Dr. have any ideas? Can he/she operate in another hospital. I do

know what you are talking about-being buried alive in the weight and

thinking you were almost hours away from an answer. Keep us posted

please because we care.

Just a thought .... I believe there is a woman in the Michigan states

attorneys office who is sensitive to obesity issues. I used to live in

Michigan and remember reading in the Free Press that she had successfully

argued cases of discrimination in the work place. I'm sorry I don't rember

her name. In any case all hospitals both private and public are funded both

by federal as well as local tax money. There should be accountability here.

My heart goes out to you ...this is inhumane. You are in my prayers.
