Stage 7 would never heal with supplements, maybe stage 1 or 2 would

Lynda

I would have to agree with Lynda, it is probably being so depleted of

cortisol that has you worrying so.

Supplements are wonderful support WITH HC. I do nto have ANY faith they

work on their own. JUst liek thyroid building products are great support

WITH Armour. Sorry I do nto believe oyu can rebuild a gland with out

giving it the hormones your body needs to function.

The fluid you are losing now sounds liek a good sign your temps may be

about to come around soon. This is usually from thyroid getting otthe

cells which as hypo causes fluid retentoing becoming less hyop makes you

lose fluids. MOST people takign just se salt do nto have to supplement

potassium. You wil have cramping muscles to tell you if oyu need it.

Most do not. Weight gain happens as the person building HC goes a bit

more hyo than they were just prior to starting/increasing thryodi meds.

I do nto believe a proper amount of HC supplementation will cause weight

gain, but too much certainly will.

So have any of you been able to reduce your use of HC after getting better

or do you think it is a lifetime supplement?

Thank you for sharing your experience with me, it helps me so very much to

hear from those I trust to help me understand this.

I have been at 15-20MG for abotu 6 months now after being on 30MG for almost 3

years . I will probably be able to come off it but I did not have seriusly LOW

cortisol to begin with I ahve high AM cortisl and low at noon. I have known some

peole in stage 7 that were able to heal their adrenals and stop it so there is

always hope as long as it is juts an adrenal problem. Some people may find they

have pituitary problems, an for them, I htink cortisol replacement is for life.

One thing nags at me... How was I able to raise to 6 grains of armour with

no problems while my cortisol was tanked? I was taking 5 mg cortef daily but

I now know I needed far more as I am still flatilined all 4 times a day. Do

you all think cortef is as good as hc? The effect for me seems to be

smoother and much less noticeable than hc.

>>I have reduced my dose of HC from 27.5 mg down to 7.5 mg..very slowly

............My best advice when you get to this point is to stress dose

GENEROUSLY

as needed >>

Hi Missy,

Would you mind spelling that out a bit? What do you mean by stress

dosing generously? A couple of weeks ago, I had a major stressor and I

had to stress dose but I got all messed up and my energy and fatigue and

malaise were coming and going and I really felt out of kilter, so I

decided to add 2.5 or 5 mgs to each dose and take that on a regular basis

for a few days and I did much better with steady dosing. Now I'm in the

taper phase, doing fine (so far). So I guess I'm asking how exactly you

stress dose--what amounts and for what symptoms and for how long?

Thanks!

Dahlia
