But I had my 6 week postnatal today - an internal and smear for Valentines, how pleasant! We have a bottle of Lanson Black Label in the fridge, which has been there since I was pregnant, in preparation for the joyous birth - everyone wanted a cup of tea not a glass of champers! Ah, but Clare's will be dead before yours! I got chocolates *and* treacle toffee (presumably so I don't show him up by demonstrating that it *is* possible to lose weight) and flowers and he even got rid of the decaying vaseful and arranged the new ones :-) From me he got two cards ('cos I am indecisive - but I did leave one on each of his pooters) and that was all - and the cards were bought mail order. Been in bed all week. Not that I had any inspiration about what I would get if I was able to be up and about. Last year's chocolate massage bar from Lush has yet to be used (perhaps because the last time we tried anything like that the sheets looked as if they'd had nappyless toddlers living in them for a week...) My DH cooks a bit, but has a limited repertoire and nothing posh. When he tries to improvise, we often end up with some rather strange combination of spices. Tonight he made baked salmon, mashed potatoes, carrots and broccoli, followed by macaroni pud. Not the most adventurous of chefs but heck, its better than having to make it myself! Anneliese (part-time) SAHM to Baby Tim (18/9/99), member, Alton, Bordon and district branch being very silent on this Valentine's thread as a card is all I get - although he DID ask if I wanted to do anything special (he asked on Sunday knowing there was no choice!) and then said as he was feeling ill he might stay at home instead of going to badminton. He then changed his mind and said on Monday if he had the afternoon off could he go to badminton? Sadly, Tim's nap was wrongly timed, he decided that shepherd's pie was finger food, and Robin didn't get home till 2.20 so we didn't make it to Marwell Zoo until after it had closed. He also has to sit down with the book, and write a list of everything he needs -and go shopping (special trip) On this trip he can't get other stuff, just " his " things. Then all the prep is as above... *but* having cooked something for the requisite time at the appropriate temp he gets in a right strop if its not done/overcooked " because the book said....
