Guest guest
Dear , This is a tough place you are in and lots of us appear to be there with you. I was wondering if there is any " emotional " support available for you through Dr. Capella's office or thru Hackensack? I'm beginning to think that talk therapy with a well qualified person - might be one of the best defenses against the " Two year Wall " . I'm just approaching that period myself but after working as a therapist for many years with poeple who have eating disorders I'm beginning to think that we WLSers may need emotional help most of all AFTER the honeymoon ends. (I am taking my own advice here and I really think it's helping me. I have also seen two local people in my own practice who feel that sorting things out in more depth has been helpful.) Some of us may also need nutritional support again at this this point, I did, but my guess is that most of us have a good idea by now what works and what is needed as far as food and supps go...but we may have a stubborn inner sabateur we need to show firmly to the door. The things which get us doing again, what we know not to do are probably the core things which contributed to making us MO in the first place. It may be difficult to find the right people to do the work with us but I really wonder if it isn't essential to get emotional/psychological help at the two year mark if we are experiencing trouble then. Hackensack is a great Medical Center. They probably have some good people there if you can find them. Just a thought... Another thought I had is that we ought to work together as Grads to define a list of qualifiers for therapist shopping. I personally think some special training is in order to understand the unique issues we face. On the other hand, maybe we can all just get out there and " train " a few people ourselves! Guest guest
Hi everyone: In one of my last posts, I wrote how good I feel waking up in the morning. But then it read how I " feel groggy all day at work " . It was supposed to read how I have " not " been feeling groggy at work. Sorry for the typo.
