Guest guest
You can combine Medrol with HC and it is Methylprednisolone. I would caution you to watch your glucose (get a glucose meter & check fastign first thing in the AM) if going to this strong steroid that way you will stay safe with it's use. There is no danger unless you take too much but ths will tell you if that is the case. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Hi Val. I received some medrol today.I've been dosing my hc as follows: 7.00 am 12.5 10.30 am 10 2.00to 2.30 10 6.00 10 I took the bedtime dose out just to see how things were but I know this is a bad rhythm.I've put some magnesium in at bedtime and since then sleeping a bit better but still waking up quite frequently after 2.00-3.00 but can go back to sleep a bit easier but waking very early and feeling not good first thing so I think it's time to try the medrol at bedtime. To start with could I do 12.5 10 10 7.5 and 0.5 medrol at bedtime (taking out the equivalent of 2.5mg hc from my last dose). I'm a bit scared of trying the medrol.I've been under some stress at the moment which I'm trying to minimize but my adrenals are even worse right now because of this so swapping my meds feels a bit scary but I know that I need to take action as I've been on this high dose of hc for a while and need to get my adrenals supported enough to increase my thyroid. Is there any particular type of glucose meter I should look for as I know you mentioned keeping an eye on this too? Thanks. >

Last night I did manage to sleep 10.00 to 4.00am without it but this is rare and still woke up with anxiety and didn't go back to sleep until I had drank some sea salt and eaten some protein.Still felt bad first thing too.Don't think my adrenals feel that well supported during the day right now and the slightest bit of anxiety/anything out the ordinary and I feel stressed but could that be the rhythm I have been doing? Sitting to standing to see if oyu can reduce thta dose? It could be HIGH cortiosl keeping you awake as well as low. Guest guest
Hun I am willing to bet you need Florinef. Badly. It is kin=d of hard to get now as they have decided it must be tempo controlled so overseas places do nto want to carry it any longer, but there are still some thta do. Medrol works better by lasting longer. but you do nto dseem to have problems woiht HC lastig long enough except your night time so I would say take the Medorl at least an hour before oyu go to bed as it also takes longer to start working. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

I do think I probably need florinef also but I am scared of taking too many meds and then not being able to get hold of them anymore-my gp would never prescribe them to me.Do you need to be on florinef for life? I will start with the bedtime medrol but as I often go to bed around 9.00 to 9.30 would it be ok to take it at 8.00 even though I don't take my prev. dose of hc until 6.00 and does it have to be taken with food like hc? Wondering whether to go back to what I was doing before until I can see my next move, persevere with this for a few more days or try 1mg at bedtime instead although I wonder whether this will make it worse. Thanks

Would I also need to keep an eye on anything in particular while I am taking it?I've been doing some reading about it and I know it's quite a serious medication to be on but I do wonder whether it's the missing piece. I received some fludrocortisone in the post yesterday as we prev. discussed but don't know whether right now is the best time to try this.I feel like I'm geting nowhere. CANNOT as there will be 0 ACTH. So first thing you need ot do is find ou t if you are absorbing the HC properly. Do this with HC 1% cream available in any pharmacy. Try replacing the last dose of the day with 1/8tsp cream. You do not take any at bedtime? I bet you are not sleeping at all! You could also try breaking these doses up. SMALLER more often will sometimes work better. You could try dosing like this first: 10mg 7AM 2.5mg 9AM 7.5mg 11AM 2.5mg 1PM IF YOU NEED IT 5mg 3PM 2.5mg 5PM 2.5mg 7PM IF YOU NEED IT 5mg bedtime -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
