Guest guest Posted August 3, 2001 Report Share Posted August 3, 2001 We started CPT at 9 months, 18 months is prob'ly a difficult age to start but here's what helped us: give as much control to your child as possible (let him/her " thump " a doll or stuffed animial), let your child pick an activity while " thumping " (video, etc), buy a pillow wedge (pillow from medical supply store in shape of triangle, then your child can at least be confortable during procedure), have something for child to look forward to after successful completion (favorite treat, etc.), do CPT after child is asleep in evening (we did two in am while awake to continue familiarity and one after asleep at night to be sure we got in a really good one daily).
