Welcome to the list, Liz. I was switched by Dr. Keshishian on

9/25/00 and have only good things to say about him, his staff, the

hospital and the whole experience. Will you be at Dr. K's support

group this coming week? If so, I'll look for you. Stick around and

ask all the questions you can. You can also email me privately with

any specific questions you might have, at suzmw@...

Hi Suz, thank you for responding. Yes, I am planning to attend the 1/9 meeting. Hope to meet you there. Right now I'm looking into what types of protein drinks I supposed to have. I'm such a finicky eater, wouldn't it to look at me. But that's why I'm here.

Hi,

I am new here, have been lurking for a few weeks. I have a friend who had DS

by Dr. A. at USC. After researching extensively, I have decided I definitely

want to have this done. That said, the soonest I can get in with Dr. A. is

May...and I called over a month ago. I really don't want to wait so long.

I am in Lancaster, California. USC would be about 70 miles, and Delano about

120 (I think). I've never been to Delano, never even heard of it before. I

keep hearing such good things about Dr. K in Delano here, it makes me

consider trying to see him.

I guess my questions are: About Dr. Anthone at USC and Dr. K in Delano, are

they really good? Has anyone had or heard of any bad experiences?

How much preop and postop time would I be spending....I need to know how

often I will be driving back and forth, that will make a difference in my

decision.

And...how long is the wait for an appointment with Dr. K?

The procedure itself I have researched and am totally excited about. Now

it's just a matter of getting it done, getting it done well, and going on

with life.

Thanks for any info.

I will be having my first meeting with Dr. K tomorrow afternoon. So

I can't give you very much info yet. However to answer one of your

questions on how much time before you get in to see the Dr.....Well I

first emailed them with a couple questions. The next day I received a

phone call from Dee Tinkle (Who has been switch a year ago by Dr. K

and now works for him) Dee spent alot of time on the phone with me

answering many of my questions. I then faxed her a copy of my

insurance card. A couple days later she called back to say I was

approved for a consult, we made an appointment for 2 weeks later. I

think that was an incredible quick response time.

My advice is to give them a call or email and ask your questions

directly to them. Link as follows http://www.gr-ds.com/

Good luck
