Guest guest
yes I think the scale is really a bad thing to have...I know I just cried and went to bed after seeing I hadn't lost any weight in the last 4 days...really really depressing. My emotions tend to be running wild the last few days..I feel good physically but emotionally I am just not doing real good. hugs sherry

Guest guest
Sherry - you know that everyone's different - but I know that that doesn't help much. I am losing very slowly, too - and the frustration is incredible. Everything I read says keep doing the right things and it will take care of itself in time - but it sure is hard to wait. I am 9 weeks out, and have lost 42 pounds. I 'lost' 2 weeks with a stricture, and then another 2 while my PCP fiddled with my bp meds which resulted in some water retention problems which have since resolved. 32 of the 42 were off in the first 4 weeks - the last 10 in the past 5 weeks. It's hard to know what to do - my surgeon and dietitian have opposing points of view about calories. I've upped my water to about 84oz per day, upped from 2 shakes to 3, and keep the total calories including those from shakes to under 1000. I walk 2 miles 3x per week, do an hour of water exercise every day, do 1/2 an hour of strength training and 30 minutes on my bike daily. You'd think the weight would be falling off... but it's not. I don't have any answers - but sure do have empathy - and sure do hope to see that stupid scale move this week. Keep your chin up. >This happened to anyone else? I mean I thought I would be losing big time the >first 8 weeks while on pureed foods... ChrisD in Belleair, FL Open RNY - 8/30/02 5'7; 302/260/150? Guest guest
Sherry honey I only lost 13 pounds in ten days ?? It is slower than some but the scales are moving down , what are you eating at this point and how much ? I know it can't be enough to stop weight loss and you are going to start again .Mom will want your scales girlfriend . I don't own any yet but plan to get some soon . Really Sherry you are going to have to look at this weight loss game like steps for instance step(losing ) ,rest ( plateau ),step ,rest, step, rest . As long as you do your protein ,water and vitamins and stay away from milk and sugar you will be fine give me a call if you need to I will be up till nine and back up by 5:30 in the morning . Big big hugs I am here for you *shaking finger saying sis stay off that scale * so bummed out! and only 2 weeks after surgery > hey guys > > I need your help.
