I found the below info on RELORA, but I seem to remember folks saying bad things about it. What's up with this? Do you and others recommend it for low cortisol? It is not the same as you find in the stores.>> Thanks all for replying. Gale, have you tried Relora and if so, what have you found? I'm thinking it might help improve sleep for those of us with low night-time cortisol. Any thoughts? Dahlia p.s. good info on Relora at http://www.nextpharmaceuticals.com/relora/relora.html includes this: " ....A second trial was undertaken to measure cortisol and DHEA levels in 12 patients with mild to moderate stress. Elevated cortisol levels and depressed DHEA levels are associated with chronic stress. A two-week regimen of Relora® caused a significant (P= 0.003) increase in salivary DHEA (227%) and a significant (P = 0.01) decrease in morning salivary cortisol levels (37%). Cortisol and DHEA levels were returned to normal in all subjects during the course of Relora®. .... " Question is: would it lower cortisol in all patients or only those with high levels? So far, I've found conflicting data...

If so thenI sure wouldn;t take it if oyu have lwo cortiosl already. The way to bering night time cortiosl down when you are too low in thr daytime is to raise the daytime cortisol. It works! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
>> Relora is for HIGH cortisol. You do not want to take it for low cortisol>> Hi Cheri, I appreciate your feedback. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts on Relora. I did google around a bit and they certainly market it for bringing down high cortisol levels. But I also got a response from the company that patented Relora (Next Pharmaceuticals) which I print here, fwiw: " We do not believe that Relora will lower cortisol when cortisol is already in the normal range, or if cortisol is low to start with. Relora appears to only help bring elevated cortisol levels into normal ranges. " Dahlia

It works! >> Hi Val, Yes, I think I'm finally getting it. I had to raise my daytime hc dose and when I finally got it right for a couple of days, my sleeplessness improved. I only woke up once last night and had no trouble falling back asleep--amazing! Thanks for all you do, and Happy Birthday! Dahlia
