A Message from Me

Out of consideration for all our members, especially our Digest people who

must scroll through gads and gads of duplicate message, and those folks who

pay for local phone service by the minute (which can be very expensive), I

encourage our members to delete duplicate messages by way of *cut and paste*

and *snip*. The following message is from a Manager of another *old and

very active* Yahoo Board:

" Just a friendly reminder to please follow the list rules about deleting

unneeded quoted text and all message footers, Yahoo ads, list footer etc.

Your recent message to the list (quoted below) contained large amounts of

unnecessary quoted text and quoted list footers which makes it very

difficult for digest readers to find the replies and very expensive for

people who pay for local phone service by the minute (most of Europe)

.................. "

With this in mind, we send out reminders here and there; but we go somewhat

easy with the hopes that our members

will pick up some tips along the way. Unfortunately, we have been

criticized for this procedure; but then again, we have been criticized for

not blasting the members who ignore formatting/deleting...... you just can't

win! And you certainly can't please everyone........we just do the very

best we can! Anyway, again could we *gently* ask you all to make an effort

to delete that part of the message you are not responding to. If you are

having a problem doing so, don't sweat it. I too fall into the non-savy

computer category - and I rely on Bobby a good deal of the time......thanks

again Bobby!

BTW, Kudos to our Moderators. These are volunteers with full time jobs who

so generously give their time and energy to us so that our group may flow

nicely on a daily basis. It's also to be noted, that all, except for one,

are in NSR around the clock and one who has been cured. This has to tell

you something about the dedication of this fine group of gentlemen. This is

just something to keep in mind if you're thinking about sending us a

criticizing message. Also, keep in mind that a lot goes on behind the

scenes that you couldn't possibly be aware of. We are constantly working

for the best interest of the group as a whole - and we're doing a good

job!!!

As the description on our Home Page suggests, we are a kind, gentle and

caring website and anything other than kind, gentle and caring, should be

taken away from our Board.

Another note here - it so nice to hear so many of you say you are so glad

you found us ~~~~~~~ as Bobby often has to remind me - " that makes it all

worthwhile " .

Ellen, my thanks to you and the moderators who make this list possible.

Where would I be without you?! I¹m sure many others feel the same gratitude

that I do. Again, thank you for sharing your precious time and invaluable

experience!

> Dear Ellen and all,

You and the board have helped me immeasurable--this is tough stuff to

live with and the more we band together to help each other, the

better.

Thanks for a job well done!

Hugs to you, Lee in NJ
