Guest guest
I don't know what is causing the high cortisol......that is what I wanted help with. Someone did tell me that when you have to much progesterone in your body it can make your cortisol really high. I have been taking progesterone cream for the last year and a half, so I am wondering if this is the cause. As far as cushing, I did get a 24 hour urine test done about two years ago and my levels were normal. So I guess I am clueless!!It also sucks cause now that I know my cortisol levels are that high all I do is think about it, which probably makes things worse. Kim Kim-High Cortisol > > Hi, I am new to this group! I just got my saliva test results back and found out my cortisol is very high. > > Cortisol > 7-8am 93 (13-24) > 11-noon 101 (5-10) > 4-5pm 64 (3-8) > 11-midnight 2 (1-4) > Cortisol Burden 260 (23-42) > DHEA 14 (3-14) > FTHS 51 > FT4 .27 > fT3 1.09 > TPO Negative > E2 7 > Progesterone > 1000 > Testosterone 22 > > I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I go from here. I did order PS and do take lots of other supplements and I am stopping the progesterone cream that I have been taking for the last year. Do you think it is from the progesterone cream, or could there be something else. I am currently also taking .5 grains of Armour and trying to up it, but haveing problems. > Thanks, > Kim> Kim, Because of your high cortisol levels, I suspect that Amour is useless for you as cortisol blocks the conversion of T4 to T3. Have you considered switching to T3? Also, what is causing your high cortisol levels? Is it cushings? Guest guest
Kim, Yes, progesterone can convert to cortisol. Here is a flow chart showing the different pathways and you can see that sometimes prog. goes to cortisol. I would definitely quit the cream. http://www.umanitoba.ca/dnalab/med/adr3.htm I hope that helps. - Janet (ChEMom) > I don't know what is causing the high cortisol......that is what I > wanted help with. Guest guest
Yes my DHEA is also high. I hope it is just the progesterone cream and not something serious. I have a doctors appointment in the next week and I will show him the test results. OtherwiseI will stay off the progesterone cream and see how I feel. Right now I feel a little strange....nasuea and night sweats, but I am sure my body is getting use to not being pumped with progesterine cream. Oh, and how do I take the PS?? Kim Re: Kim-High Cortisol Is your DHEA high too? It sometimes helps to take DHEA when you have high cortiosl as well as PS. With all the time high cortisl I would be having a doctor do further testing to try to find a cause. If it is as simple as stopping the progesterone cream, thne nothing else needs to be done, it should loweron it;s pwn, so I would stop that and be retested in 3-4 months -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthet hyroidmadness. com/ http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ NaturalThyroidHo rmonesADRENALS/ ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Get easy, one-click access to your favorites.
