So he is having a blood test, urine test and an ECG. Here's where I have some questions that I should have asked but was so tired. I understand what the blood test is for but not the urine or the ECG. Can someone tell me? I was suprised about the ECG. > Hi . They are probably checking kidney and heart issues, because there are rare known syndromes that involve hearing loss and kidney and/or heart issues. I was told by our ENT that the kidneys and the cochlea are developing at just the same time, so sometimes there is a connection. I'm surprised that they're just ordering a urine test, though, and not an ultrasound. We had an EKG, a renal (kidney) ultrasound, genetic counseling, CT, and in-depth ophthalmological tests (to rule out vision problems), along with a blood test. --k -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
