Guest guest
Does anyone know who did this? Why do we ALL need the reminder? Please, attach your name to this reminder, or remove it, " I " am not on a 1500 calorie diet, this is NOT my first day, and I don't need to be reminded to pray every day, I think that is my personal choice. This has gone on every day for over two weeks now, and I really hate to be a witch and say something, but I think enough is enough, please? I hope our new members know that this is not the general philosophy of the group...not that we don't believe in prayer, but that we realize this is a personal choice? Guest guest
I'm glad somebody spoke up about this....I thought it was a regular notice from the group owner and I was a bit miffed but just ignored it as I like the group so much. I do not need this reminder at all. This is not my first day, either, my calories are not restricted and I don't pray to a Christian God, if that is the 'God' the message refers to and I agree that this is, indeed, a personal choice. This person might want to use their own personal programs to send reminders on their own pc on a regular basis. Tamara > Does anyone know who did this? Guest guest
I didn't want to offend either, but I felt like I had been reminded long enough! It was not my choice, and it was really starting to bother me!!!! Thanks again Gena for taking care of it! Sharon
Guest guest
I was thinking the same thing. I am not on a 1500 a day calorie and why am I being reminded to pray?? Guest guest
Sharron - praying and the atkins diet...we all have our own oppinion. If it helps you or me to type in everything we eat in a day, then we do it. It helps others to post what exersice they did every day - so they need to do it. It helps me to moan and complain - so I do it. If this is helping even 1 person - it needs to be here. You do have the choice to over look it. ALL topics are allowed and ok here. If you don't like one of them, don't read it. If a topic becomes very long and involved, taking up very many posts every day there is another group set aside to take long personal discussions. But this is not " too much " or wrong in any way. (I personaly find it VERY offencive that any topic in the world can be discussed in any forum - but heaven forbid someone mention prayer, God or religion and someone has to point it out and treat it like a sin.) Guest guest
Who ever is posting this reminder - please continue if it helps you. I am so far behind on posts that I haven't a clue how this little cat session is turning out, but I do hope you hold to your own. I for one support you and it does help me to see this every day. Thanks, and my support to you, Ang > I'm glad somebody spoke up about this....I thought it was a regular > notice from the group owner and I was a bit miffed but just ignored > it as I like the group so much. > > I do not need this reminder at all. Guest guest
Ang, But the person that posted the thing to have the reminder EVERY day is not even here anymore from what Gena said, so how can it be helping her? Its not that I found it offensive, but as I said, I don't need the reminder, and I was not the only one that said anything either, Shan said something and got no response, and a few others said something as well AFTER I did. If that reminder is helpful, great! I know how to hit delete, but the way it was written, it really sounded like we ALL were on this same diet, that it was EVERYONE'S first day, and that we were ALL only having 1500 calories. What bothered me is that it seemed very much like blanket statements, for everyone, and just like when we went through this with Atkins, if it works for you, GREAT, but that does not mean I have to do it, or need to be reminded of it every day. I was just as uncomfortable with it being about the number of calories, and about the first day every day, as I was about the praying, so PLEASE DON'T TELL ME ITS ABOUT RELIGION! Its about feeling (again) like someone else is trying to make their choices my choices, and the last time I checked, I am a big girl, well over old enough to vote, drink, smoke, and buy lottery tickets, and quite able to choose what I need to do or not do of my own free will! Guest guest
Ang, Again, Gena says that this person is no longer even with the group, and if it is who I believe it was, she was not posting or contributing when she was here. All that was asked for was for her to PLEASE add her own name or something to the reminder so that new members did not think that was the plan that everyone here was following. It would be just like me going in and making a reminder that posted every day " starting 4,000 calorie diet and worshipping Beezlebub " ....its not what we are all doing, any more than we are all doing WW, or all doing Atkins, or all on the South Beach diet, or what have you. The point I am trying to make, STILL, is that we all have DIFFERENT approaches to how we are going about our weight loss journey, and while I think its great if that reminder is helping, it should have been set up better, and more clearly. Sorry that you don't seem to be able to see that and that you feel I was the one being catty, I assure you that is not the case. In fact, if it was who I think it was posting the reminder every day, which I believe it was from when I went in to set up a reminder for the water challenge, since I could see that info then, I went out of my way to answer her, and encourage, and do what I could to help, and she never responded, to any of us. I thought the point of this group was that we were all here to help and support each other, am I mistaken? Sharon
