Guest guest
if it makes you feel better... on the days i have large amounts of soy or high fructose or other 'additives' for the next few days my thyroid levels are off. andrea diet soda and weight loss I found this article that says (quote)".....like the by-product of aspertame, get deposited in the thyroid, wreaking havoc on its ability to function properly.Soy,so universally touted as a wonderful health food, may contribute to the mix as well, since it contains goitrogens, compounds that suppress thyroid function. How ironic that an overweight woman following mainstream advice to lose weight might be downing large amounts of both diet soda and soy products that in turn might be suppressing the very hormones that she needs to accomplish the task." Any feedback on this??I mean really,I am the WORST for diet soda,I average 5-6 cans a day.(because it tastes sweet and I try to avoid sugar except on certain days, you KNOW which days to which I refer, and then it's "stand away from the chocolate" or risk getting run over)HeHe
Guest guest
yes yes yes to all. i feel tired, warn out... like i'm in the middle of a mini flare up because essentially, that is what it is. good stress can still stress out your body... winning the lottery can stress your body out as much as having a loved one pass away. it's all in how you psychologically respond to it as well as how your body physically reacts to the psychological stimulus. this is why when you have good stress (say a birthday party or family event) you are having fun, enjoying yourself, but when you get home you're wiped out... it's the same as doing all the housework or office work you need to do and then crashing... it doesn't always happen drastically, but it happens. usually your body should be able to adjust the levels of adrenal/thyroid hormones accordingly but in unhealthy people like us, that doesn't always happen. this is why regardless of the day i am having, i always plan every day around how i feel when i wake up that morning.. this essentially means i do nothing... but right now, that is what my body needs me to do. on the days i can do more, i do more, on the days i can't, then i don't. you will notice as you get further along into the listening aspect of your body, you will find things you thought were vague or off but you never knew why. and like myself, you'll probably also find things that were masked until the more 'severe' symptoms went away. good luck... good job being interested! andrea i hope that helps, diet soda and weight loss

Guest guest
Well I am just getting excited about my illness finally rather than trying to ignore it... No sooner did we just past Christmas, New Years, etc but we just had our anniversary, Valentine’s Day, my daughter’s b’day, my b’day, Spring Cleaning and Spring breaks, and upcoming is Easter, St Pat’s and Mother’ s day — this “good stress” coupled in with two kids needing braces and /or oral surgery along with my “stuff” and my husband just Dx with ADD and THEN add in the “bad stuff” i.e. House, fence and roof falling apart, carpet shot to hell and needs pulling out, etc etc., car needs work, my GP of 10 years no longer takes my insurance, major dental restoration work for me, overdue for mammo and paps a year now, TMJ, carpal, etc... And I actually DO WONDER why I don’t feel like doing anything some days!!!! Where the heck did I get this “super woman” syndrome ... That’s for another board, I am sure! You guys are ALL great! I have starting points and measuring sticks now... Wow! I love it cuz I have been called “anal” more than once and love to see and chart things, good and bad and all this feedback is like a high and I honestly feel better already -- ! Thanks Sue yes yes yes to all. i feel tired, warn out... like i'm in the middle of a mini flare up because essentially, that is what it is. good stress can still stress out your body... winning the lottery can stress your body out as much as having a loved one pass away. it's all in how you psychologically respond to it as well as how your body physically reacts to the psychological stimulus. this is why when you have good stress (say a birthday party or family event) you are having fun, enjoying yourself, but when you get home you're wiped out... it's the same as doing all the housework or office work you need to do and then crashing... it doesn't always happen drastically, but it happens. usually your body should be able to adjust the levels of adrenal/thyroid hormones accordingly but in unhealthy people like us, that doesn't always happen. this is why regardless of the day i am having, i always plan every day around how i feel when i wake up that morning.. this essentially means i do nothing... but right now, that is what my body needs me to do. on the days i can do more, i do more, on the days i can't, then i don't. you will notice as you get further along into the listening aspect of your body, you will find things you thought were vague or off but you never knew why. and like myself, you'll probably also find things that were masked until the more 'severe' symptoms went away. good luck... good job being interested! andrea i hope that helps,

Guest guest
Thanks exactly right, ... It's one of the reasons that one of the signs for adrenal fatigue in some is that they dont' laugh at jokes, get excited about little upcoming events.. and just kinda get all indifferent about stuff... One of my first experiences of getting better after starting adrenal support is laughing at something on TV. Now I even laugh on stuff we talk about here... *looks around to see who is all listening* I was laying in bed last night, just crawled in, and getting settled and comfy and ready to dose off... It was getting windy, we had a winter storm hit last night... any way the tree outside my window, if it's blowing hard enough, rubs a branch on the roof, it made a scrape sound that reminded me of the sound of an air freshener can being spritzed. So there I am, laying in bed and starting to giggle.... smelly brain farts.... I rolled over and settle in again.. the branch scrapped again.... smelly brain farts.... I ended up just cracking up!!! hehehehe Darn good thing I sleep alone! hehehehe Topper () On Mon, 13 Mar 2006 16:51:46 -0500 " Teague" writes: yes yes yes to all. i feel tired, warn out... like i'm in the middle of a mini flare up because essentially, that is what it is. good stress can still stress out your body... winning the lottery can stress your body out as much as having a loved one pass away. it's all in how you psychologically respond to it as well as how your body physically reacts to the psychological stimulus. this is why when you have good stress (say a birthday party or family event) you are having fun, enjoying yourself, but when you get home you're wiped out... it's the same as doing all the housework or office work you need to do and then crashing... it doesn't always happen drastically, but it happens. usually your body should be able to adjust the levels of adrenal/thyroid hormones accordingly but in unhealthy people like us, that doesn't always happen. this is why regardless of the day i am having, i always plan every day around how i feel when i wake up that morning.. this essentially means i do nothing... but right now, that is what my body needs me to do. on the days i can do more, i do more, on the days i can't, then i don't. you will notice as you get further along into the listening aspect of your body, you will find things you thought were vague or off but you never knew why. and like myself, you'll probably also find things that were masked until the more 'severe' symptoms went away. good luck... good job being interested! andrea i hope that helps,
