Guest guest
Hi. I've worked my way down to 6 grains Armour (from 10) and up to 40mg T3. I think I need to drop more Armour but have held here b/c I'm having mixed hyper/hypo symptoms. Plus, the adrenal symptoms mentioned before. My hair is dropping again to where I can see my scalp (ugh!) I believe I found an Endo who treats adrenals too. At least, that's what his web site says... so I went in for consult and the nurse prac. sounded advanced in her knowledge re: adrenals, my family hx of pheochromocytoma, cortisol levels and possibility of hormome resistance. Long story short, she wanted to run a full battery of tests and I " m still waiting for results on all but the thyroid labs. She did not want to order saliva cortisol so I'll push that next phase... after I get these results back. They called me this morning and said stop the T3. my TSH was 0 (who cares), FT4 1.65 (.71-1.85) and FT3 is 6.81 (1.45-3.48). I told the receptionist that I wanted to talk to the doc cuz I want the rest of the results before I'll talk about that possibility. The rest of the labs aren't in yet. My T3 is very high but I don't feel as badly as I would think that level would make me feel. Is that number something to worry about if I am hormone resistant. What does it suggest other than I am on too much T3? > > > I would suggest stopping the Armour and continuing wiht the T3 where > you are, this will give your adrenals a resbit and possibly you shoudl > get a saliva lab to see where they are. months of high RT3 will stress > the adrenals where the T3 suddenly asking for more metabolic work can > cause you to suddenly feel the adrenal stress. > > > > -- > > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > > > > > > Val beat me to the answer. Guest guest
it would suggest that the T3 is not getting ot the cells form low cortiosl. Guest guest
Hi . I'm on no cortisol as I had weird side effects from it last time. I was high cortisol at the time. I have held off on the saliva re-testing but know now that I HAVE to do it... that is my next phone call. I heard back from the nurse prac this afternoon. AM serum cortisol and ACTH were " normal " I just said " ok " cuz I know that means squat. I asked her if she would do a midnight cortisol and she said " no " . Mine was 61 (1-4) on last saliva test. Very interestingly, she reported I have high antibodies not only for Graves but for Hashimoto's, too!. Shoot! What does this mean in relation to all my issues? She said the antibodies can do a great deal of damage with my T3 that high. I asked her about T3 only therapy ( it would be nice to do under doc care) and she said they only do that for the people who can't find relief any other way... " HELL_OOOO? " She said I guess you've reached that point, huh? So she says we'll check labs in 6 weeks and to cut my Armour in 1/2 (to 3 grains) and hold my T3 where it is. In the meantime, I'm calling my Naturopath to order cortisol saliva test. At that point, Val, depending on the results, I am ready to try HC again (on my own). Oh, she said the high level of T3 could be the cause of my fatigue with exercise... I know that it's because I stress my adrenals so I haven't exercised in 2 wks.--- Any advice on what I'm doing and on the combo of Hashi's and Graves?? Thank you as always. Guest guest
FIRST LOW thyroid causes the antobosdies ot become very active but yours probably is low due to it not getting ot the tissues, bot because of th ehigh Free T3. WHERE do these doctors go to school? Or do they? Walmart? LOL Gads. But at least she is willing to work wiht you sort of. ... The combo of Hashi's and Graves is no different to treta than Just Hashi's as they both end up hypothyroid sooner or later. You would need to be certain you ARE hypo an not hyoer form the Graves but I do nto see that in your labs. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Well, I sure Feel Hypo with the 2 hr naps each day and the hair loss, but no swelling, dry skin or bathroom issues. So you're thinking I'm hypo even tho my T3 is through the roof... because it's not getting into my tissues (from high antibodies and hormone resistance)? Will dropping the Armour make me go more hypo? Maybe I should increase the T3 as I go and just tell her I misunderstood her instructions...hhhmmm. Saliva cortisol to come... Thanks. > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >
