Guest guest
Hi all this is my first contribution to this great forum. About fludrocortisone 1st- you should take it at least an hour away from the hydrocortisone as otherwise they cancel -each other out. I can t remember where i read that but since i ve been doing it (almost 7 years now) no more problems 2nd- when you take it for the first time take a quarter of a tablet for a few days and increase by a quarter of a tablet every few days until you take the full tablet (0.1mg).that way you ll avoid the side effects of your body adapting to the new balance: headaches, fever etc... 3rd- fludrocortisone works by helping to retain salt, so for it to work you need to have salt in your diet; and even increase your salt consumption during hot days or when you are sweating a lot (ie:exercise) 4th- Also if you are taking more than 25mg of Amitriptyline (brand name Elavil) you might need more than one tablet of fludrocrtisone as Amitriptyline lowers your blood pressure (one of the listed side effects), I don t really know how; I am not a doctor just an informed patient who learned through experience/trial and error 5th- also eventhough you are always thirsty don' t overdrink too much liquids as that causes dilution of your electrolytes salt which in turn makes you pass more urine (very clear urine) and further the low blood pressure well that's my experience with Fludrocortisona nd low blood pressure hope it may help someone else marc Nervous about who has your email address? Guest guest
While I agree 100% abotu fluoride, when you are low in Aldosterone we have no other choice than Florinef. Some folks HAVE to have a replacement and all the salt in the world is nto enough. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
