Guest guest
Thanks Tasia. My knee pain started almost 5 years ago and has never responded well to any treatment including cortisone shots, PT, massage, etc. The back pain goes back WAY longer than that and that, along with hip and rib pain is one of the things that drove me to giving up on Synthroid and trying this Armour route. > > I was google-ing back pain and thyroid tonight and found this article. > Here is a summary: > > http://www.enotalone.com/article/13313.html > > Knee pain = adrenals (this happened to me in Oct, got severe knee pain > when I began a stressful semester) > > > shoulder/upper back/neck stiffness or pain = thyroid (that's me now) > > Tasia >
Guest guest
I had knee aching for 3-4 months. My knees would ache going up and down steps, or going from a sitting to standing position and vice versa. It finally went away but now have aching in the hip joint area. It only hurts when I walk and the more I walk the worse it gets, spreading to the buttocks or into the backs of the thighs. My doc says it is peripheral artery disease but I am not sure I agree. I am taking Isocort and it helps with the tiredness and some of the achiness. I wondered if Cortef would work better, and if so would that mean I don't have PAD? My cortisol levels were elevated, high normal, depressed and elevated in May. Doc told me in Oct. to walk through the pain and I would be able to walk further with time. This has not happened.Meanwhile, we have gotten seriously behind in bills because I can not work. I might could do a sit down job but I've never had one of those. Doc gave me some pain/anti-inflammatory pills and they don't do a thing. A couple of you say that Armour and Cortef would straighten me out. But what if it is PAD? Thanks in advance for suggestions/help. And Happy Thanksgiving.
Guest guest
My knee ached the same way - up and down stairs and getting up. It ended up not really being the joint at all, but chronic iliotibial band tendinitis that never completely resolved or responded to treatment. That same tendon that ties in under the knee runs all the way up to the hip and that's where I have been hurting for going on 4 months now. One of the symptoms of thyroid is problems with connective tissues and joints that manifest as arthritic-like pain so that could be part of your problem. I believe that it is a big part of mine. > > I had knee aching for 3-4 months. My knees would ache going up and down steps, or going from a sitting to standing position and vice versa. Guest guest
Interesting that we all have had similar knee pain. Before I was aware of adrenal issues, my knee pain was off and on....and as <I forgot who> said that it went up the front of the leg to the hips. I happened to be seeing an orthopedic surgeon at that time and he said it was because I hyper-extend and I need to work out my thigh muscles. If that was the case, I would have always had knee pain. When my adrenals fully passed into the next stage, going up and down stairs was soo painful. At the time I was not sure if it was T4 toxicity. I did not expect others to have the same experience. Guest guest
Well I am not sure I buy that adrenals and knee pain are linked. My knee pain was from hyoithyroid. I still get some twinges when the weather changes btu nothign liek I used to get. BTW Tendinitis is from hypo too! I had that in my righ tarm to the extent I was in PT for it and wore an arm brace for abotu 2 years and was told to quit grooming. Well gues what I didn;t quit grooming and I have had NO pain or trouble wiht it since adding more T3 to my diet !LOL -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
My knee issues which I have not seen in a year are now back in right knee. In my case I do think it is hypo related because it started to get bad after I started Isocort and was on a month, which I know has made me even more hypo. I will see what happens when I start the T3. It could be possible that it is BOTH adrenal related and thyroid related and based on the person, one or the other is the dominant cause. I used to have bad carpal tunnel too when I was at my most hypo but that has gone away. Cheri Re: Re: Cool Article, How To Interpret Body Pain. Guest guest
Cheri, Knee problems appeared after I tapered off all thyroid and since starting Isocort, left wrist feels carpel. Likeyou, I'm hoping I'm ready for T3 Monday. Would have started today, but don't want to act strange teaching my Sunday school kiddies. Pat Re: Re: Cool Article, How To Interpret Body Pain.
