Guest guest
Hi Edith, Well according to the ENT last week (from the hospital) there was no infection in the ear that had fluid in it, and no ear infection was found in previous doctor's appointments. But he has had several upper respiratory problems (not diagnosed as infections but definetly very severely congested and was actually diagnosed with croup at one point). Maybe this could lead to the fluid build up? I will have to ask that to the doc tomorrow too. I am glad the tubes did help your daughter though, desptite the need for a hearing aid still. Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it! Ricky's Mom -- In Listen-Up , " Edith Tarter " <etarter@m...> wrote: > Same here...once the fluid was gone, she did hear better, but still had mil/mod loss. We got the tubes first, so that when aids were adjusted to her level of loss, it was accurate (not adjusted to the greater level of loss when the fluid was present). > > BTW, just because fluid is present, does not automatically mean tubes. Ricky could just have an ear inf. and have fluid from it, and once treated, the fluid goes away. Lidy never got rid of the fluid, but rarely had an ear infection. The ENT said her middle ear structure was not ideal, which explained the ongoing fluid. He also said she may need tubes again, when these fall out, since she could still carry the fluid due to the structural problem. > Edith >
