Guest guest
" Has anyone taking this drug? Has it helped and what are the side effects you have had with taking it? Michele " Michele, I had a bad experience with it, but I was taking a larger dose. It dropped my blood pressure a little fast and I thought I was going to pass out. They took me off it for a while and then they told me I could try 25mg when the heart rate got high. I have no problems with the lower dose. Guest guest
I have been on Toprol XL 50mg since March when I cardioverted from persistent a-fib. I have been in NSR since. I can't say I notice ant side effects at all other than when I run (which I took bakc up again after cardioversion), my heart rate will not go above about 150. I was also told Toprol can make you tired & to take it at night. Again, I have not noticed any effect. So all in all, a very good experience --- Nellie Sue wrote: > > " Has anyone taking this drug? Guest guest
Do you notice that taking Atenolol causes fluid retention, especially in the ankles? I asked my EP about switching from Toprol to Atenolol, but he said no, because fluid retention is worse with Atenolol.
