Guest guest
Val, I am sorry to have to ask. I've been trying to figure this out on my own, but I guess I am just too new to this to get it all on the first go round. Brief recap so you don't have to go searching: September Saliva Results: 7 to 8 AM: 11 - depressed - ref val 13-24 nM 11 to Noon: 4 - depressed - ref val 5-10 nM 4 to 5 PM: 3 - depressed - ref val 3-8 nM 11 to MidN: 2 - normal - ref val 1-4 nM Cortisol Burden: 20 - ref val 23-42 DHEA: 7 Normal - ref val 3-10 ng/ml Doc put me on 5mg 1x day which I did for a while and then I upped to 5 and 2.5. 5 days ago, I started getting a cold and decided to stress dose and ramp up at same time. Which brings me to: Monday I went to 5, 5, 2.5, and 2.5. That seemed to work great until Thursday when I had some pretty bad fibro pain in my shoulder and arm in the afternoon and evening. It didn't even occur to me to stress dose for that pain (duh!!)until that night. I only took 5 instead of the 2.5. Friday Morning I woke up with cold symptoms again that were now worse than before so I upped my dose to 10, 10, 5 and 5 and am continuing that today. I was stupid and decided I needed to clean the finish on the top of a chest in my den which entailed some physical exertion and of course made me feel even worse (stupid idiot!!!). So, 15 minutes later, it is time to take my temp and it is 99.1 -totally unacceptable, I don't want that on my graph!- I waited an hour and it went down to 98.6. Here are my temp averages: 98.6 98.1 98.5 97.7 97.9 97.8 1st day at 5, 5, 2.5, 2.5 97.7 98.1 97.9 Fibro Pain in afternoon 98.0 Cold symptoms again 10, 10, 5, 5 98.4 (so far) Woke up at 4:30am w/ terrible postnasal feeling terrible. 10, 10 So here I am at this 10, 10, 5, 5 dosing schedule, I am sick and the stress of Thanksgiving is coming up and I am thinking how far can I go with this stress dosing and when will I know if I am taking enough or too much. If I stress dose on top of my stress dose every time I have a new stressor, I could be at 100mg by the end of the week, LOL. Heck, my inlaws haven't even gotten here yet(they have never been here that I wasn't sick)! Any advice you could give me would be helpful. Thank you so much, English
Guest guest
Thanks Val, I know I am not unique in the stressful family department! Although I sort of envy you not having to talk to your relatives, I know that the stresses and hurts still remain. You sure do have a big family here that loves you and is very thankful for all you do for us!! I just sent an email order for bracelets, a little support for you in return for the great support you have been to me. English
