Jill,

I've never heard anyone call it stuttering when trying to finger spell, but I

do with the same two letters D and F. I can't tell you how many times I've gone

to fingerspell my name and ened up spelling Febbie, only to realize that I used

the wrong letter.

I'm sure I make my deaf friends laugh when I'm trying to sign.

The worst are the letters D and F. I invert them constantly and always stutter

when I sign them.

At one point I was asked if I was hearing or deaf -- we were to practice

negatives so my answer should have been: No, I'm not deaf, I am hearing. What I

said was: No I'm not home, I'm hearing.

and ask why not. G.B Shaw
