Guest guest
Happy St Patty's Day, I am looking for some exercises my mother-in-law can do in her bed to help keep her body strong. She is in a nursing home. Three times a week when my father-in-law is there they help her walk down the hall. Her chin is on her chest, she freezes, shuffles--all the usual stuff. They use a belt, follow her with a wheelchair and use a minimum of two people to help her. They have had no real help from physical therapists in the past (maybe because what they really needed wasn't communicated) and my father-in-law doesn't want to go that route. They asked me if I could find some things she can do in her bed, either with him or on her own. Her left arm is pretty useless and she hasn't been willing to do the strengthening exercises for that. I am hoping to help her set up a routine that she can stick to, but don't know what would be best to do. I really appreciate any help, and all the past help as well.
