Guest guest
People interested in getting a second opinion: We sought a second opinion for our daughter from a proven Ponseti method practitioner when it became evident that our doctor (who was new to the method and had a god complex) wasn't following the protocol exactly. I was surprised to see the bill. It was not very much. Of course, everything was fine, so we didn't have to do any treatment. Our insurance did cover the cost of the second opinion. We don't have to have referrals, though, luckily... Even if we would have had to pay it, the peace of mind it gave us would've been worth it! We eventually switched to the more practiced doctor when it became increasingly obvious that our doctor did not believe in the true Ponseti method. I really don't think she even read the book! She made a comment that most children she treats don't have a bar larger than 10 " when she saw our 12 " bar and felt it was too big. (Our daughter was their first ponseti patient, so the doctor wasn't used to having 2-3 year old children wearing a bar). How can a 3 year old child wear a 10 " bar?! Anyway, I digress! Hope this helps! Joanne _________________________________________________________________ Instant message during games with MSN Messenger 6.0.
