The only reason I began to suspect thyroid problems for myself was 18-months ago when I was having hives (for months) and a newly graduated allergist said that autoimmune diseases like hashimotos and others can cause hives the same as any other allergic reaction. If you think about it, your body with hashimotos is having an inner allergic reaction. So, why couldn't it also cause all those other problems you were having? When I took Benadryl allergy med 3x per day, it solved those problems for me. This isn't a complete answer to your questions, but I think you're on the right track. Now if only the dratted young allergist had run a full panel of tests and stuck with me, I might not still be fighting for diagnosis and salvation ... but I digress. Guest guest Posted March 20, 2006 Report Share Posted March 20, 2006 the only time i get anything close to hives is when my face gets red and splotchy... and sometimes my neck will to. it's not hives per se, but i notice that it happens when i get embarassed or at my docs office lol. so i think it might just be the situation. i do notice however that my face isn't as red due to allergies. this was becoming a big problem with trying to find good make up to wear lol. andrea Re: is it possible...
