Yes it means follicular carcinoma. snip>With thyroid cancer, the whole thyroid is ALWAYS removed, This is NOT correct. I had papillary carcinoma confined to one lobe and ONLY one lobe was removed. Conservative surgery is practiced wherever possible to prevent causing hypothyroidism - often the remaining gland can compensate if given time. Donna in Oz.
