Guest guest
Over the years with dealing with my spinal scoliosis, degeneartive spine disease, osteoarthritis since first diagnosed at age 30 (37 years ago), I've sought out alternative healing methods to help heal myself & stay up & walking & have optimum mobility & doing physical things I've always done since childhood. After discovering I had hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia & candida albicans, I addressed those issues the same way or with other natural methods I learned. These techniques or healing sessions (exclusing diet & food preparation) often took up to 8 hours a day to do on myself. But I did them every day or at least most of them or as many as I could manage to make time for. This meant spending a lot of time alone with myself just doing self-healing of one form or another. At least 8 hours a day. That is, until recently when I've quit doing all or most of them altogether for one reason or another. Mostly due to having too much pain doing some of them such as Hatha Yoga or other more strenuous exercises & /or becoming too despondent & lacking hope for the future to bother with them anymore. This is where it stands now...my not doing much or any of those healing methods on myself anymore. But I do know that while I was doing them almost every day regularly, they kept me off the operating table, away from chiropractors, out of a wheel chair, off countless amounts of Rx drugs & in general good health otherwise. Since stopping them my immune system's gone way more haywire & I've been more & more depressed & despondent with more aches & pains & less motivation to continue living. Here's a list of all the things I did for self-healing & balance everyday or most days of the week up until the last few years, in case anyone's at all interested: * Mostly raw foods (fruits & veggies) & vegetable juices diet with nutritional supplements. * Hatha Yoga an hour twice a day, morning & evening. * Walking, roller skating, bicyling, swimming & other aerobics, at least one of these daily. * Rebirth breathing an hour or more per day. * Yoga breathing l/2 hour or more per day. * Chanting, 45 minutes per day. * Meditation 45 minutes to an hour per day. * Hot bathtub soaks in epsom salts, sea salt, lavendar oil & /or self-prepared herbal juices, eucalyptus oil, etc. 20 minutes daily with sesame oil applied to skin beforehand & massage oil applied after the bath. * Sun bathing up to l/2 hour or more per day. * Skin brushing 10-15 minutes per day. * Full body massage every Saturday for several hours with my hands. * Full body massage other days for an hour or more with an electric massager. * Feldenkrais movements * Tao movements such as Chi Qong w/hands-on healing. * Inversion on a back swing up to l/2 hour per day (hanging upside down by the heels) with sit ups or other exercises included. * Reiki healings done by others. * Chiropractic or osteopathic adjustments when necessary. * Auric healings done by others. * Group healings with others including chanting, meditation & hands-on or aura healings. * Psychologic counseling done by others. There's more but these were the basic things I've done to keep myself healthy & as happy as possible over the years since age 30. They worked well when I worked them. Now I've lost nearly all desire to do most of them & have no more group involvement or support since none exist where I now live. Tho I still do a few of them on occasion but only sporadically & not enough to effect ongoing balanced healing. Caroline *

Guest guest
Caroline, I am sorry to say nothing in your list will heal a sick thyroid. All your lack of will to live and lack of will to heal yourself can be from hypothyroidism, in fact it is a classic symptom we all share to one degree or another. I am PAST that and back wanting to live and worrying about losing weight and worrying about quitting smoking and sugar (yup I too have those vices), but I remember four short years ago, when I didn;t care if I lived another day. If not for my pets, I probably would have been suicidal, but worry over them and the fact several are young healthy animals kept me from going there. The ONLY thing I have changed was first my thyroid meds. Then a year after that, I changed my whole life & circumstance. I moved across the country & back looking for happiness. Didn;t find it in my travels, but I have found it this year. It will soon be a year since I opened my own grooming shop. I will be 50 next month and have been grooming for years but due to health and no WILL to do things for myself I never had the confidence to open a shop till now. With Armour, you will soon be feeling more like returning to your other things that kept you healthier for so long. Without it, you will gain so much more pain and possibly become a suicide statistic like my own Mother did. She was only 35 when she gave in to the lack of will to live and I have spent my life trying to even up the odds for other thyroid sufferers so it doesn;t happen to them. Keep trying. Did you do the phone calls you were going to today to get your latest labs? Go to myrxforless and order the generic desiccated thyroid? I take the generic and it has worked just fine for me. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Yes, I guessed as much from reading this groups emails so far & Dr. Mercola's newsletter. I definitely need a good thyroid supplement. But I must say the healing modalities I've done in the past have kept me up & going for my spinal problems anyway. Also the inversions on the backswing do stimulate the glands & drain the toxins & poisons from them as well. So it does help that way. But still the natural thyroid is needed but I never knew that until now. So thankfully now I know about it & maybe it'll eventually help get me back into doing the other healing things I used to do again to help with my spinal problems if nothing else. I somehow don't think my lack of will to live or lack of motivation is ALL from the dysfunctional thyroid. It's because of lonliness, isolation & the great losses & tragedies I've also suffered through & am still experiencing, which could have contributed greatly to the thyroid dysfunction in the first place. So that still needs to be corrected with or without a balanced thyroid supplementation. How that can be done is beyond me at this point in time as there seems no way possible. But if I can feel better with natural thyroid intake, then maybe somehow, someway that will become balanced & corrected too. Have to wait & see. It worked for you, maybe it will for me too. Thanx for the reminder I have to call again today for the lab reports & also order the thyroid supplements from the link you suggested. Brain fog here...forgot to do that this morning. Or the other one Sandy recommended. Are they they same link? Not sure. Caroline Re: Alternative Healing Modalities Caroline, I am sorry to say nothing in your list will heal a sick thyroid.
