Yep, it's the truth. We're the cash cows, yet it all comes out of our

pockets fro foreign aid, medical care for 3rd world coutries, yet the idiots

don't take care of their own, and we get the h#ll charged out of us for all

these services. And they wonder why there is a huge movement to order our

drugs and such from overseas. Americans are getting very tired of the crap

and tired of being shaken down for all our monies and such, only to be

treated like stepchildren, so to speak. This is a sbjct I am VERY sore on.

I love peoples from other countries, but I would like to see us get taken

care of the same way that we're taking care of others.

SAme here look how they fly these foreigner here for our life saving surgeries and then Katrina happens and we still have people homeless and job less and all that stuff. But yet there is some foreigner sitting in a great hospital somewhere in our great country eating very well and we have katrina vivtims still not having enough to eat and drink and so forth it stinks I think America has it backwards we need to take care of our own first then worry about the other places. But you know what really gets my jucies flowing our vetrans these guys fought and lost arms and legs and some gave their lives for this counrty and were not even reconized as the busses brogght them back to there home town from Veitnam oh man talk about getting my goat there it is. They did what their country asked them to do gave of their lives andf now get treated like crap and oh that goes through me like a hot butter knife and i do fear that is how it will be for the guys who

are in Irqai right now. I sure hope I am wrong or I think i might be going to jail cause it is wrong. Yes we need to take much better care of these veitnam vets living on the streets and having no home no food and no love well I love them and I am greatful for all they ahve done for this country they are heroes in my eyes they didn't ask to be sent there it was the men on capital hill that made the decision to send them. Okay Tina need to shut up now she is getting to angry I have put her muzzle back on for now. Tina wrote: Yep, it's the truth. For all that we complain here in Australia, I think we have it better than you over there! Most of our blood tests don't cost anything (or minimal), Medicare covers most of the "going to the doctor" bills and you can be treated in a public hospital free for surgeries etc. The main problem is the waiting lists especially for the elderly. The Government see things like knee replacements as " elective".................ie not an emergency .........also sadly it's a $$$ situation as well, replacements only last 10 or so years and I hate to say it, but when they say "You aren't old enough", they are factoring in the cost of doing it a second time on the same person, so replacements usually outlast the patient. :((

My daughter had years of orthodontic treatment including 3 operations, one of them major, and all it cost me was $450.00 at the outset towards the braces as I was on a pension at the time. However anyone regardless of income can be treated as a public patient when it comes other things. I had my appendix out a few years ago and it didn't cost me a cent

We have the homeless situation here and that is sad, and yes we have the same problems as you with the Vietnam vets. they were spat on when they came home, had red paint thrown on them and were called "baby-killers" .The suicide rates and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is way too high. I have known vets of both :(( especially as I was in that age bracket, conscription was even introduced, "cannon fodder"......The slogan was 'ALL the way with LBJ"...... ..OK I'll put my muzzle back on as well.......**slinks away**......................Meleese in Oz xxx

Maybe Australia, England or Scotland will adopt me :) hehe

Seriously, I know nobody's political and medical stuff is perfect.

But, you'd think since we're all so darned evolved and modern that the

political systems that grind us up should improve every year by leaps

and bounds. I guess that's why we all need to vote carefully.

I was thinking today, wouldn't it be nice if we could do a fund raiser

for people who can't afford testing and doctors visits or their

medications? Something not dependent on the gov! I don't know the

logisitics of how to run it (and please don't make me do that) but if we

all could give something that could be auctioned off, or raffled, or

whatever, and somehow those funds could be doled out to partially pay

for small things, like half a month's prescript for someone who can't

cover it that month, or half a doctors visit, or half the cost of a

healthcheckusa screening. I say half, because then the recipient would

be less likely to overly depend on the charitable help, but it would do

a lot of good for those who really need it. Trouble is, who would run

it? Who would make sure its all handed out properly? Who'd make sure it

doesn't turn into another of those charitites that have money funneled

out inappropriately? Still, I like the idea. I'd donate some of my work

as a web designer, or a piece of jewelery, or something like that if

someone could make it work.

Phew, I talk too much too late at night.

Someday I'll catch up on all the group messages and then you'll see a

couple dozen posts in a row from me. But for now, one or two messages is

all I can swing.

If I ever don't answer anyone - write me again - I'm having a hard time

keeping everything straight in email.

Night night all,

-Lynn

We are the same in Canada..we pay medical that is mandatory and based

on income so if you have no or littel income you pay nothing for

medical. People complain about the waiting times at hospitals for ER..

mind you those who were too busy working have the kids there with

runny noses and we do lose some of our docs to the big medical money

in the states..but our drugs are also highly controlled so no mark up

is allowed..I believe the max mark up is 10% from wholesaler to

customer.. so the pharmacies make a huge profit still off dispensing

fees..

We have homeless, most chosen or drug related and yeah the system

could be better..

There is a company that I'll need to get for you... they build buildings out of steel instead of wood and it's really inexpensive to have a kit delivered and ends up costing 1/4-1/2 the price of what a traditional building would.

Good luck...

I actually had COndoleeza at the tip of my tongue. I

bit it back because I felt like I was saying too much

even with the Hillary thing LOL

I know how politics can get people upset, so I just

won't go into it unless its dragges out of me....or

unless a little bit *slips* like it did this time.

I actually had COndoleeza at the tip of my tongue. I

bit it back because I felt like I was saying too much

even with the Hillary thing LOL

I know how politics can get people upset, so I just

won't go into it unless its dragges out of me....or

unless a little bit *slips* like it did this time.

hehe
