Re-mortgage just before leaving? Take it you are renting out your

place then?

Put it in a large pile of stuff that needs tidying away. He'll never find

it in a million years . Then use it whilst having a conversation with him,

he won't take a blind bit of notice.

Not that I'm cynical about men or anything :))

What about one of those internet thingies that plug into the TV, about ?80?

Or wouldn't it work in Cyprus?

Yeah, I know and I would really love one, but we already have 2 PCs so the

thing where DH can use one and I use the other (the bigger better one I

might add). is already sorted. And I am not sure I could justify the

expense of another decent sized pooter which will

eventually just be used occasionally. I may look into getting a small

second hand one which would just have the internet on and perhaps Word or

something.

Where would I rent one from, Sue? How would I get it back to them from

Cyprus? would they let me rent one and then take it out of the country?

Sorry to be a pain, but hadn't even considered this.

And yes excellent deal on new mortgage and covers the shortfall from our

endowment. Completed yesteday - thank God. So renting for three years.

Um, we have three PCs, and two laptops, so that's no excuse. :-)

Mine is used daily, even though it's not my main PC, and SO's is now a

work laptop so it comes and goes with him each day. Laptops come into

their own when you're traveling, even if you don't use it to get email.

It's so handy having it there to do some work/write up

documents/memos/whatever when on the train or on holiday, or just

vegging on the sofa !

Good idea; second-hands can be really cheap. Laptops do seem to lose

their value pretty quickly, so it's probably not worth forking out for a

new one anyway.
