Guest guest
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Our son (a twin) is 13 months old 10lb 14 oz and still on stage 2 baby food (and lots of pediasure). The last few days, he has occasionally refused a meal. When he does that, we have offered him cereal (cheerios or sugared) and bits of finger foods (french fries etc). He eagerly opens his mouth for the " real food " and eats. Then he throws up. This happened last night. Today, he refused lunch and our babysitter offered him Trix cereal. He ate it and then threw up again. His nutritionist (who told us she has another RSS patient) says that he should be able to take solids. His feeding specialist/speech specialist says that there is no physiological reason why he can't take solids. I don't know what to do. Do I let him skip a meal? Keep trying solids? He has taken eggs without a problem and cheerios before. Any suggestions? He has increased his caloric intake from approx 540 to over 700 in the last week (by adding extra meat to his meat dishes, polycose to fruits and vegetables, olive oil to cereals and him just eating and drinking more). BTW, we have a first appointment scheduled with Dr. H for April 17. Is anybody else going to be there then?
