Jerrie,

Yes, There are meds which will eliminate drooling. An anti-histamine

(benadryl) or an anticolenergic (Bentyl) and several ether medications.

Botox can be injected into the parotid glands (just in front of each ear).

This a bit radical. but necessary treatment.

Have faith, there is help out there.

God Bless,

Jim Stark

Jerrie:

One thing to remember is that the drooling is because they have lost the automatic swallowing reflex not because there is more saliva. Ken sometimes drools a lot too. I have found that I can often remind him to swallow, and the drooling will be less. Also, chewing gum or eating hard candy can help this. Barbara

This is really interesting - chewing gum and eating hard candy - Bob would love

the candy part! But then, do you worry about choking? I'm going to try the gum

first.
