Guest guest
Thanks for the replies to my post. Jake had a terrible day yesterday...or at least I did. He got into the bathroom (we'd stopped needing to lock it) and poured out all the shampoo. When I was cleaning that mess he went down stairs got red jello and smeared it into the carpet. Out came the spot lifter. When I was cleaning that mess he climbed up into the cupboards and got an entire bag of xanthan gum and poured it into the kitchen sink. I can't begin to tell you how hard this stuff it to clean up when it gets wet!!!! And the SCREAMING! OMG! I gave him the pepcid and tonight he was such a sweetie. He said " I love you, Mommy " just before he went to sleep. This really happened at a good time. His transition into K has been really rough. I was beginning to wonder if working so hard to get the teacher to comply and all the baking and special trips to the HFS were worth it. I have my answer!!! Guest guest
Congrats on the luck with the Pepcid Rhonda. I know the feeling of having to go through those behaviors. Tommy has taken MY patients to a level that most people will never see in a lifetime!!..lol LUCKY US! I had really good luck with the pepcid last night as well.. Luckilly for me, I think I caught it before Tommy had a chance to react to MY slip up. We have to live and learn though :-) HUGS!! Rhonda NH > Thanks for the replies to my post. Guest guest
Hey there Terry I must say.. up until the point of the slip up, Tommy was getting bad again.. to the point where his behaviors were exhausting us ALL. When I called his ped, he said that pepcid wont hurt him. That it has the same effect on people as taking a tums. The only difference is the ingrediants.. ie- pepcid AC has no gluten. I gave him the PepcidAC night before last.. and since then, he has been WONDERFUL. He has actually been sitting down with us at dinner, and watching tv with us after dinner instead of stimming until bed time. Today, the school called me to tell me how WONDERFUL of a day he was having. That he was participating in circle time, and at recess, he was actually playing with the other kids. When the bell rang, he lined up with the other kids, and followed inside the building with the others. His shadow didnt have to prompt him at all. Maybe its just a coincidence.. I dont have a clue. We have also taken him off of the clonodine as well (thats a WHOLE other story.. I do NOT recommend using clonodine though). I would GUESS that it wouldnt hurt to TRY it with Nik.. but definetly call you ped first to make sure of the dosage. I gave Tommy one tablet. It was the name brand.. Pepcid AC.. is there different brands??..lol My husband uses it alot, so I am stocked with it in the medicine cabinet..lol Keep me updated on what happens though.. I am DEFINETLY interested in what happens.. Good luck! Hugs Rhonda > Rhonda > > Nik has been really having some bad days, but I really don't think a > slip up was the cause.
