Hello everyone! Long time no post.

I read on the second page of the Toronto Star about an STD (caused by

a parasite) that is being studied that doesn't always show up on

regular STD tests. It's really common but underdiagnosed because a lot

of time there are no symptoms. It's called Trichomonas vaginalis. I'm

going to make an appointment and get specifically tested for it right

away. It has been linked to painful sex, frequent urination,

inflammation of the cervix/bladder and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. It

is passed through oral sex even...and symptoms show up in women 50 per

cent of the time, but in men almost never.

I do find it weird my symptoms showed up right after having sex with

my new boyfriend for the first time. It's a possibility for me

anyway...maybe if this sounds like you, you could look into it too. I

was so excited that maybe I have that and it's treatable (you have to

take a certain kind of antibiotics for it) but I won't be getting my

hopes up after a year and a half! Anyway here are some links.

Something to check out for sure
