Guest guest
HI Lauri Emu oil is a very good healer and is also a transdermal carrier. So I would suggest you apply it first if you are using other medications that you'd want carried into your blood stream. (say hormones such as the Estrace which you would want to penetrate deeper to heal) It will 'not' put up a barrier. IF you don't, say a steroid for instance? Then no I would not use those together as whatever you mix it with will bring it deeper. Some members get their meds 'compounded' in it and use it as a base even. The American Emu Association mixed natural Vitamin E with Emu Oil then applied the mixture topically. They were able to detect the Vitamin E in the bloodstream within 2 hours. Small amts. probably but still shows what a carrier it is. So do not mix Emu Oil with anything that you do not want carried into your system. Emu Oil truly has a bunch of benefits. First, it is very soothing, for some women it is the only thing they can stand to put on when they are in really bad shape it's so light. Second, it has healing properties that other "soothing" things do not have and I've seen studies where it's even been used on burn victims or those who've had radiation for cancer for instance and swore by it. One of the LS members did a lot of research to find the "purest" emu oil and this gal REALLY investigated it even to how it was stored and processed...and she decided on http://www.laidinmt.com/ is probably the best and longview farms next (I think). I myself tried another brand and it was fine, it's also available in some local stores, but It's not cheap but a 2 oz bottle lasts a LONG time since you use the barest of drops (feels like nothing is there) but is. Also just FYI here's another link that has a lot of information on the benefits of it. http://www.longviewfarms.com/ Good luck if you try it. Lots of members really swear by it.
