Emu oil is a very good healer and is also a transdermal carrier. So I would suggest you apply it first if you are using other medications that you'd want carried into your blood stream. (say hormones such as the Estrace which you would want to penetrate deeper to heal) It will 'not' put up a barrier. IF you don't, say a steroid for instance? Then no I would not use those together as whatever you mix it with will bring it deeper. Some members get their meds 'compounded' in it and use it as a base even.

The American Emu Association mixed natural Vitamin E with Emu Oil then applied the mixture topically. They were able to detect the Vitamin E in the bloodstream within 2 hours.
