Guest guest
Hi - Thanks so much for responding, I got chills when I read your message as has always had difficulty with auditory processing. This has been her primary area of difficulty. She never had a specific diagnosis as you just received though. I wonder if should have the kind of testing that Elyse is having, to get a more specific pinpoint on her needs. I am so glad that Elyse is finally getting the attention she needs, I know how hard this is, it must have been so difficult for those many years, you are strong to persevere, a great mom!. I know the feeling of knowing there is something wrong, but nobody seems to listen, mother's intuition is a real thing. With her RSS diagnosis how could they overlook the possibility of LD??? We have all been thru these " duh " situations it seems, so frustrating. I hope you will see dramatic results for Elyse, is thriving with the therapy and attention and special teaching methods. She is reading so well and has been aceing her spelling tests this semester (of course dad studies them with her every night!). Math is a huge struggle, but she is now getting some special teaching methods for that also. She tends to make leaps & bounds in one area at a time, not several at once. She has been that way her whole life, so I am happy if one subject area is going well. Be ready to stay on top of the teachers/school, I am lucky to be in a school system that takes these LD's seriously and so far has handled it well. But we have to be ready to " push our weight around " if necessary, none of our RSS kids would have succeeded so far without this attitude, right?! Please let me know how things go, I will be thinking about you! > > > Hi , > My name is and my daughter Elyse is 10 1/2 RSS diagnosed at 9mos.
