Guest guest
Ok I've been trying to figure out why the listserve has been nonexistent this weekend. Nikki up here in another part of Canada even emailed me to find out what was up. Now I've seen the news I know the problem. You guys are all at the store buying everything off the shelves for the BIG STORM eh?? Man, a foot or two of snow and you guys all shut down!!!! You need to live in the great white north for a bit eh Nikki??? So once the storm hits, Nikki, this group should be REAL active as they will be all hiding inside for the next few days, or if the list is NOT active then I guess we'll be reading about a whole bunch of new babies due in, oh, nine months from now <wink>!!!! Get the shovel, perk some coffee and enjoy!!!! Debby PS I'm having a laugh with you all, but we are getting a slice of it here in Toronto. It's not going to come too far into Canada (Nova Scotia is one the list Nikki so watch out) but we are going to get a fair bit too (but, hey, I'm still going to work tomorrow--we don't shut down for a little bit of snow!!!!!!!). Anyone know when Ken is back?? I'm sure he'll be REAL pleased to come back to the BLIZZARD as they are calling in down in the states. Guest guest
Okay, you Canadians can make fun of us all you want, but WE are the ones who will be staying home for the next two days, watching movies, baking cookies and sleeping late. You may be used to the large amounts of snow, but it will be US who will be taking time off!!! ; ) Really, even though I am in the 2 foot plus area predicted for snow, I am not worried at all. We have plenty of food, lots of movies, candles, flashlights, books and warm clothes. (The electricity does not usually go out, but with that last big storm about a month ago, the lights were flickering, so it pays to be prepared.) Unfortunately for us, my husband is out of town. He is not sorry to be gone, but my kids and I are. (He may be laughing now, but he will pay when he gets home!!!) My biggest problem is that I have one heck of a toothache and nothing can be done about it before Wednesday because of this storm. Yes, I have pain killers, but I have been taking them for a couple of days and my system just cannot handle them too well. My dentist will hear about this when he is able to return from Florida. (He is " stuck " down there, poor guy.) So, I hope, Debby and Nikki, that you have a great day at work tomorrow. I will think of you when I automatically wake up at 6 and roll over and go back to sleep! : ) Jodi
Guest guest
Well, Here in Texas it is supposed to be in the 60's most of the week! Glad this isn't my week to go to NY. I guess we couldn't get there anyhow with all the cancelled flights! Sorry to gloat, but in summer when it's 110 here it will be what in the 70's and beautiful up there! Keep warm everyone! Ken may be stuck on vacation somewhere! Carmen, mom to Storm and Paisley
Guest guest
Ken is either in the Bahamas or Bermuda - one of those " B " places, I believe. I wonder if he did get home...We are in NJ and my husband was able to get out to Atlanta tonight, so maybe he made it home in time. Of course, there are worse places to be stuck! In reality, my family should have gotten on the plane with my husband. We won't have school until Wednesday at the earliest, so we could have gotten a mini vacation out of this storm! Oh well. We are warm and happy. (Jenna and Max won't be tomorrow, though, when I hand them the snow shovel But we will have one heck of a snowball fight!) Guest guest
Well Jodi Continuing in the same totally off topic vain, we are getting walloped. The snow came MORE than predicted. I couldn't get into my driveway after work tonight (GGGRRR to you for sleeping in!!!) but am in " stand by " mode for tomorrow. If I think it's no good out there, this gal is taking a snow day. And look out Nikki IT IS coming your way too!!! We are the only ones here in Canada to get it too. Lucky us eh???
