Guest guest
Well now I've sobered up a bit I'll let you all know what I got up to last evening and this morning!! We had 10 friends around for an Imperial Roman Feast! The 12 of us make up a core NCT Coffee Group in Newton Abbot and we still all meet up every three months for a meal, not bad considering we all joined the NCT about 5 or 6 years ago. DH and designed the invitations and menu which was genuine Rome foods. I've copied the Invitation and Menu below for you to all drool over.......... Imperial Roam Feast 31st December 2000 Hail, Countrymen & fair citizens of the garrison of the Abbotoniums of Newtonium. You are hereby invited to attend the celebrations to welcome the Official New Millennium. Whilst we have to continue to endure the occupation of this wet & miserable land, so far away from our own Rome, we shall enjoy a feast of our making. The Emperor has let it be known that we are to Celebrate in the true traditional Roman way. As a mark of respect to Rome the full toga and tunic is to be worn. In view of the inclement weather it is unlikely that Biggus Maximus will be with us. 83 Via Boros of Woolus Newtonium Abbotimius Devonia, Britannia Menu A Celebration with Friends, Romans & Citizens to welcome in the year 2001 A warm welcome Awaits for 7.30pm Aromatic Wine Accompanied by Pringliniums & Pretzelus A Baian Seafood Stew Baked Cabbage with Cracked Wheat and Pine Nuts Mushrooms Stewed in wine with Coriander Beets with Leek & Coriander Cold Breast of Duck or Chicken with Asparagus Sauce An Apician Baked Ham A puree of Lentils and Chestnuts A compote of Early Fruit A Baked Dish of Pears Shipped fine wines from our own lands and those conquered by Our Great Emperor. I took about 80 photos throughout the evening it was a real hoot..Although as the evening wore on DH had to take over this the camera as I couldn't stand up straight. Finally got home to my bed at 3am didn't get up until 11am DH was up and out at 8am, he's gone out on his motorbike for a play, must be mad. It's lovely I've got the house to myself as MIL had the boys overnight and is dropping them back sometime this afternoon. So I'm taking my time to straighten up the house, seem to be togas all over the place. I've now got enough costumes to stage my own passion play!! Hope you all had a good time, well I really must get on and do some work now. As it's 2pm and DH will be back soon, better look busy for when he strolls in the back door.........
