Guest guest
Hi Debi, Yes I did have heart palpitations as a pre-op. I hardly ever have them now as a post op (except when my blood pressure goes up cuz the kids are being animals). That is one co-morbidity I do NOT miss In duodenalswitchegroups, Debi Theriault <theriaul1@e...> wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Just a question for those of you post op...Did any of you have a problem > with an extremely fast heart rate before the WLS? Guest guest
Debi, I did! My pre-op resting heart rate was alarmingly fast. At my pulmonary function test a week before surgery, it was measured at something like 110bpm, and I checked it a lot during that last week and found that it was consistently around 100bpm. Interestingly enough -- and I have no idea whether this is related -- my potassium levels were found to be way low in my pre-op bloodwork. I ended up having to take some mega-dose potassium pills for three days before surgery, then having my level checked before surgery to make sure it was in the normal range before they would operate. I'm happy to report that my resting heart rate is now normal! I'm checking it now -- it's 64 bpm at the moment. > QUESTION!!!! > > > Hi everyone, > > Just a question for those of you post op...Did any of you have a problem > with an extremely fast heart rate before the WLS?
