Can you get your audiologist to write a letter of support? That's

ridiculous!

<<Can you get your audiologist to write a letter of support? >>

We already did.. We appealed it TWICE....

We are probably going to get them after we get our taxes back. We should be

getting a good sum back and were going to go on a vacation, but this is more

important.

I'm so sorry - that's a pain!

If either you or your husband work at a company that has medical savings

accounts, that's a little less painful wallet-wise. You pay for the

aids, then take the money out of your medical savings account and it's

pretax dollars - so (if you live in the US) it's money that's not taxed.

If you wind up paying for the aids yourself (as many of us did), talk to

the audi about payment plans. Most aids have a trial period (60-90

days), so you won't have to put down the full cost right away. This

might help make the cost more manageable. Also, many audis have info

about little-known programs that help fund the cost, usually based on

family income.

Then wait to buy the aids for next year, and put at least enough money for aids

in it. MSA works great...in that you can withdraw upfront once you incur the

expense and then continue to contribute/repay the account all year. Best thing

going!

Actually we do have a medical savings account. Nothing left in it for this

year, but we are doing it again for next year.

Are you able to get a payment plan through your Audi? We did and it helped

a great deal!
