Well, when we woke up to SNOW (only 2 inches here but lovely and powdery and

a bright sunny day) on Thursday we decided that Tim had to go out in it. So

we got him togged up in his jacket and wellies and put the reins on him, and

Daddy took him down the drive while Mummy pushed the pushchair behind him...

and he kept on going... DH decided that he had to beat MIL's record for

walking (to you hampshire folk, that's as far as the seat in the car park by

the community centre) so encouraged him further and further... he started to

get tearful at Porter's but DH made him carry on till he'd walked through

the door and into Sainsbury's!!!! That's a mile!!! In snow, in wellies!!!

Gosh, he was relieved to get into his pushchair!

BTW, he never cruised - he started standing up in the middle of the floor

and sitting down again (or bending/squatting down and standing up) at about

9 months I think and walked at 11 months. But never really from furniture

to furniture - he'd just stand up in the middle of the room and walk a few

steps and then sit down!

Happy new year to one and all,

Anneliese (part-time) SAHM to Baby Tim (18/9/99), member, Alton, Bordon and

district branch
