Guest guest
Well, I'm currently having problems with them. They filed my daughters speech claims under her sister. They paid for speech in 2002, but now they say they won't pay for her 2003 claims (even though they did in 2002). They seem totally unorganized. I'm very frustrated with them. > I've had a very horrible and difficult situation with AETNA US Healthcare over the past two weeks, regarding mental health services in a crisis situation. I am initiating and plannning a class action suit against this company. > > If anyone has any information or cares to join this suit, please contact me immediately. The health and well being of our children and families is truly at risk at the hands of this provider. > > With best Regards, > > Karyn Succi, MA > President, > Parents ADHD Network > >
Guest guest
FYI, Aetna only offers 60 days of speech services, LIFETIME. So, no, once those 60 days are up, you're on your own. If you're interested in fighting them, let me know. [ ] Re: CLASS ACTION SUIT WITH AETNA US HEALTHCARE Well, I'm currently having problems with them. Guest guest
The thing that has been hard is that we are in the middle of moving. We still have half of our stuff in a storage unit. I had to unpack medical records from 2002. Well, last night I found what I was looking for. It's a letter from Aetna saying that they would cover speech therapy for . I faxed it to Aetna last night, and I'm looking forward to talking to them next week. We've now switched to Blue Cross, and we were only going to private speech once a week. If they cover 60 sessions, that would get us through. > FYI, Aetna only offers 60 days of speech services, LIFETIME. Guest guest
I am very familiar with insurance issues. if the mental health issue was truly an emergency ie. emergency room tx. then by law they must pay for it. Have you followed all of the appeals processes you have available and filed a complaint with the DOBI? (department of banking and insurance). laws vary from state to state . where do you live? I live in NJ and happen to be a mental health professional who works for an insurance company so I have direct knowledge about these issues. If you want to provide anymore details or email me directly I will be happy to see if I can help out.
