Hi Tawnya...My name is Eileen and my son CJ rusts his batteries

quite often from sweating. Our audi just said to make sure that the

battery compartment was clean...if not, gently clean it with alcohol

and cotton swab.

We put his ha with battery into the Dry & Store. Hope this helps.

Tawnya,

We put the aids in the Dry & Store with the battery door wide open to help with

any moisture that may have become trapped in the aid. Unless Ian is a really

sweaty baby, I wonder if the aids popped into his mouth during the day? Or if

he nurses or takes a bottle, if some milk dripped down the side of his face onto

his aid? It would take more than a little condensation for the rust to

accumulate in just one day of wear (unless you had not opened the battery case

for several days??). You may want to look into Super Seals or the hearing aid

sweatbands to give the aids a bit more protection. We had Hadley wear Super

Seals until she was 2; was nice to to have to worry about sand and dirt getting

in there too. We bought ours at Just Bekuz Products; they are having a holiday

sale on all their products with a big sale on the seals until early December:

YES! Ours came with instructions to remove the batteries before putting the

aids in.

When the Dry & Store came out, I had to be the biggest sceptic when it came

to keeping the batteries in - before this, the 'wisdom' of the time was to

never put batteries in a moisture absorbing system. Well, my son and I now

both have one, and I did to testing to see if it shortened the life of our

batteries or not. It didn't. I can't say that it prolonged the life of ours

either, but I can say that for us, it didn't shorten the life. I can also

tell you that since he's started using his, he's had far fewer problems with

his hearing aid.
