Guest guest
Hi, all, I have an appointment on Monday with a pain management doc and I am really not wanting to go. First of all I am feeling better but I told myself to just go-it's covered by insurance-and see what they say. So...I get a call from some idiot at their front office who tells me not to eat or drink anything starting at midnight the night before my appointment. I ask why, as this is my first assessment. She said, " I DON'T KNOW WHY. " WHAT THE HELL???? Ok, so I ask if I can talk to a nurse and she gets me one. The nurse told me I couldn't eat " in case " they wanted to do a procedure. So they tell EVERYONE not to eat but they made NO MENTION of getting a ride or a way home? That's not right or safe at all in my opinion. I told them that since it was my first assessment and I did not have a ride home, that unless she could tell me that a procedure was scheduled, that I was going to eat and drive myself. So we're already getting off on the wrong foot (I admit- I lose patience QUICKLY when the front office staff doesn't know what they're doing and my standards are completely unrealistic). Has anybody had success with pain management doctors? Lindsey
