Endro says Armour will make me bounce from hypo to hyper?

Hi Everyone!

What does this mean, is this true? Why did he say this? If he

really believed that then why would he prescribe it? How long does

it take to feel better on Armour? I feel extreme drowsiness still

and it's driving me nuts and depressing. I'm tired of feeling this

way and it's really wearing me out. I've been on synthroid 50 - 8

wks then 75 for 3 wks. The little relief I got on that were minor

symptoms that came back! Now Armour for 6 days: I can exercise more

than before. 30-40 mins was a push for me, now 60-90 mins isn't

hard anymore, more like it use to be. I finally got down to 140.5

lbs. My body wouldn't let me past 142 for 4 yrs! Even when I ran 5

miles a day for 30 days. How long does it take for the drowsiness

that is bothering me more than anything to start going away?

I'm confused if the conversion rate on Armour's web site is wrong,

where do I get the correct conversion rate? I need to know what

would be 75 or 100 synthroid to Armour?

Thanks,

Forget about the conversions. You only need this when you first

start the switch to Armour. After a couple of weeks on Armour, then

you need to start raising it if you still have symptoms. Drowsyness

is a definite low thyroid symtpom. You just raise up your dose

slowly in small increments every two weeks to a month untill you

feel good. Don't even bother with conversions anymore. Keep a record

of temperature and pulse so you can know if you've gone too high.

Just keep going up slowly untill you feel well, you body temps

average 98.6 and your pulse stays under 84 beats a minute.

Hi Tish!

How do you raise it, how much more armour? I'll run out of meds if

I do that. Can't see dr till 6 wks. How do you convince endro to

give more meds? I accidently took synthroid 75 and armour 60 both

for 3 days because I asked to add armour not switch. Then realized

on boards that was too much meds and called dr to confirm. I felt

better on those meds, my weight was going down, felt a touch of

energy could exercise longer, appetite went down actually forgot to

eat one day till night, temp went up to 98.2. Now back down to just

60 armour and everything has reversed, temp down to 97.7, weight

going back up, NO energy, extreme drowsiness. So I was thinking of

using 1/2 75 synthroid tab and 60 armour since I have leftover

synthroid. What do you think?

Thanks for your time and input,

Dear ,

I am one of those renegades who treats herself. Yes, you can add the

Synthroid on top for as long as it lasts. Dose increases should be

around 25 mcg of Synthroid every two weeks or about 1/2 of a grain

of Armour every two weeks. While you do this, you can order some

Armour or Nutri+meds and switch to that when it arrives or when the

Synthroid is all gone. 1 grain of Armour is approximately equivelent

to 74 mcg of Synthroid. As you approach 3 grains of Armour a day,

slow down dose increases to once every 4 weeks to give time for T4

to normalize in the blood and to protect you from overshooting and

going too high too quickly and having hyper problems. If you have

hyper problems on doses of less than about 4 grains (the thyroid

makes 4-1/2 to 5 grains a day) then suspect you are having adrenal

fatigue problems or anemia or another thing interfering. In this

case dose raises need to be in smaller amounts and you will need to

wait 4 weeks or more between raises.

You can get Armour or perfectly good cheap generic natural thyroid

made in New York at Time-Caps Labs from Mexico at MyRxForLess:

http://www.myrxforless.com/pharmacy/product-results.asp

You can also get Nutri+meds Thyroid perfedtly legally at:

http://www.nutri-meds.com/thyroid.htm

Nutri+Meds has both Porcine (pig) and bovine (cow) extracts. They

have about 1/4 grain of thyroid per tablet. So, you would need about

4 to equal one grain of Armour. I would also dissolve or chew them

to get the most out of them if you can stand it. Bovine probably has

less T3 than Armour and than nutri+meds Porcine. One researcher told

me that bovine is the closest to human thryoid output in T3 levels.

Go to Dr. Rind's page to find out how to monitor your progress using

the methods used for over 50 years before all the sensitive tests.

http://www.drrind.com/tempgraph.asp Keep a record of your symptoms

also. Then slowly raise your dose up over time untill your

temperature averages 98.6 and your pulse stays under 84 and most

important of all untill you feel good and loose your hypo symtoms.

You may have to go over your optimal dose and get a little hyper to

find out where your best dose is. This was common practice in the

old days. If you want to keep seeing your doctor, many people will

stop their thryoid a day or more before any tests. There won't be

any uncomfortable questions. However, why go to the doctor then?

From the late 1800s up untill the mid 1970s thyroid doses were

adjusted as high as needed to releive the symptoms of the patient

and to make them feel well. Doses averaged between 3 and 5 grains a

day and for some went as high as 9 grains. The first thyroid

patients lived long and healthy lives and in general thyroid

patients lived long healthy lives prior to heavy relaiance on the

TSH test. After the heavy reliance on the TSH test, thryoid doses

dropped to 1/3 of what they were for 84 years prior to the test.

Osteoporosis was never studied and rarely mentioned with respect to

Armour in all the years this product was used at these high doses.

You cannot overdose on any dose less than about 4-1/2 to 5 grains

because the pituitary will drop production of TSH to keep thyroid

production around or below 4-1/2 to 5 grains.

I have been treating myself for one year now. I don not worry about

tests much since my goal is to feel good and be healthy and not to

fit in a range of dubious value. It is quite possible to treat your

thyroid condition without tests. It's been done for a long time and

many people in the US do this with Nutri+meds and other thryoid

glandulars as well as from ordering Armour out of the country.

There is a risk that you can have the Armour from Mexico

confiscated. Nothing will happen to you, they will just take it and

send you a letter saying you need to show you have a prescription to

get it. This doesn't happen too often and so far it has not happened

to me. It is best to order small amounts, less than 3 bottles as

more triggers cusom's interest as it is more likely it can be resold

in the US illegally.
