New member here and have some questions??

Hi All.

I am new. My name is . I am 32 years old and have been

diagnosed with many things.

First off, I have been having symptoms in my vulva/and vaginal

are for a few months now. My symptoms of the vulva area are

basically burning and soreness, and I also get these cracks in the

vukva area from time to time, they come and go. I also have burning

inside the vagina as well and have some redness and irritation

inside there.

I also have a very inflammed bladder/urethra as well. My one

urogyne says it is IC(interstitial cystitis).

I have been having alot of confusion with my doctors lately

though. My one gyne that I have had for a long time told me I had

HPV and all this burning was from that. I went to see a

urogynecologist then at this point to get a second opinion and plus

the urogyne deals with the bladder as well. Well he says that he

thinks I have Vulvadynia, IC, and also he said he was 99% sure I had

lichen planus. He took some biopsies of the vulva area, but they

came back just showing inflammation that is all. But he still said

he was sure I had lichen planus.

Well, I figured I better get yet another opinion here since

I was being told two different things by two different doctors. I

went to see a dermatologist yesterday to see if I had this lichen

planus down there and to see what this was. Well she actually

brought in a group of expert gynecologists who deal with lichen

planus and diseases of the vulva/vagina. They told me that by

looing, they did not see any evidence of lichen planus at all. They

said that I had vulvular vestibulitis. She gave me this med called

flagyl to take for two weeks. The bad thing is that I started it

yeeterday and I am having weird side affects and may have to stop

it. I woke up with my tongue burning in the middle of the night. It

is awful. I figure it has to be the flagyl doing this. The only

other thing I could think of was that I did swish with mouthwash

(listerine) before going to bed like I always do. I am wondering if

this caused my tongue to burn, like if there was an interaction

between the drug and using the listerine. What do you guys think?

Also the urogyne called me yesterday to say that my test

results were back from the vaginal swab they did and it showed I had

an infection. I forget what the name is, but it is when a woman has

to much of the normal bacteria in the vagina. Well he also told me

to take the flagyl for this as it has to be treated.

Are there any other meds other than flagyl to treat the

infection and the vulvular vestibulitis? I will likely have to quit

the flagyl due to side affects. Any ideas? Thanks for listening.
