That's convenient. Now I can just say I have Metabolic Syndrome instead of diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I've been feeling very discouraged lately. My latest A1C, as mentioned earlier on this list, was higher than last time, my weight, which I fought to get down to 180 is now 190 again, and they can't seem to control my high BP (ultrasound today). The last BP drug recommendation, Spironolactone (brand name: Aldactone) has so many risks of hyperkalemia, especially with diabetics, that they'd be testing potassium and sodium almost monthly. It can also cause spotty hair loss, enlarged (and I assume sore) breasts and a basketful of other things. I'm so tired of this. -=sky=- Type 2 dx'd 9/04/05. Last A1C: 6 Low Carb, Metaformin XR (2000mg). Other Meds: HTZ, Lipitor, Cozaar, Topcol, Synthroid. Supplements: B12, CoQ10, Omega 3, L-Arginine, biotin, folic acid & others. Guest guest
Cappie, thanks for posting this information. I printed it out and intend to take it with me to my next doctor's appointment. Do you have a url for IDF site with the guidelines?
