doxepin causing hip pain or from going off of bcp?

Hi all,

I'm having a dilema. I have just recently started taking doxepin. I

started last Friday at 2.5mgs in the evening. At first my only side

effects were feeling a little tired the next day and a headache that

cleared easily with advil. 2 days later I experienced transient hip

pain equally on both hips. After 4 days of being on that same dose

of doxepin I have this hip pain pretty much all day. The past few

days it has actully woken me up and I was unable to get back to sleep

without taking more advil.

I called my doc and she said the 2 pains weren't related. The week

before I started the doxepin, I stopped taking seasonale. The 'big

doc' said I needed to get rid of the extra estrogen in my system to

get the chronic yeast infections under control. I had my normal

period and then started the doxepin. I have no idea if the two are

reallated.

I just wanted to know if anybody else had experienced any weird side

effects while taking oral doxepin. Since I'm on such a low dose, I'm

thinking of not taking it for a few days to see if the hip pain

improves. I have never experienced this sort of pain before and also,

I haven't done anything physical to cause such pain.

Any ideas?
