Hi and welcome! , would I be assuming correctly that your

daughter was put on Synthroid since she has no thyroid?

Synthroid/Levoxyl/T4-only meds are the absolute worst thyroid

treatments. Yes, the anxiety could be related to the thyroid.

Hi

What thyroid med are you, your daughter, and other folks on? Yes, thyroid

can have everything to do with the monthly cycles and other hormonal

changes/difficulties.

No she is not on Armour. I dont know anything about, I have to start

Her age, and being on Synthroid, can be the culprit. Synthroid is

lousy treatment, and ESPECIALLY if your daughter has no thyroid.

Armour would be giving her exactly what her thyroid would have been--

not just T4, but T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin. It makes a huge

difference.

Hi ! , let me tell you why I started this group, and why

there are hundreds like me here who totally understand. I was on

Synthroid (and Levoxyl) for 17 years. NEVER EVER did either help me.

I had one of the most bizarre and debilitating reactions to exercise

or movement that I have ever heard of. In fact, my disability became

SO severe that by the year 2000, I told my husband I was going to

have to apply for disability. I was so, so sick. And I had spent

thousands upon thousands of dollars over the years to try to find out

WHAT was wrong with me!! NO ONE EVER said it was my thyroid, because

of course, I was being " adequately " treated and my numbers were " in

range. "

And to make a long story short, I found out about Armour, started on

it over 2 years ago, dosed more by SYMPTOMS that labs, and the rest

is history. I now have fanastic stamina and energy and SO many other

wonderful results. Armour works.

Oh sure, on Synthroid/Levoxyl/T4-only meds, you get some results.

BUT....you will ALWAYS have problems of one kind or another that are

related to being on a T4-only med. These include anxiety, or chronic

low-grade depression, or high cholesterol, or dry skin and hair, or

hard stools.....the list is long.

You would be amazed what problems have ceased since folks switched to

Armour here. Sometimes we laugh since we didn't know that certain

ones were the RESULT of being on T4-only meds.

If you decide to switch all of you to Armour, it will be very

important to find the right doc. The majority are QUITE ignorant

about it. And even when one " allows " you to be on Armour, they

frequently don't allow enough since most docs are LAB-OBSESSED. You

might want to tuck the following info in the back of your brain---

when folks find the optimal dose of Armour, the dose which takes away

all negative symptoms, their TSH is usually suppressed (below 1) and

their FREE T3 is over the top.

Hang in there, and don't hesitate to ask folks here any question.

This group is loaded with lots of self-taught folks, and good folks,

to boot. We KNOW our stuff here, because we have LIVED it.

Janie, Wow this support group is really kicking.

Anyway thanks so much for all your info. I have my head spinning right

now. The doc wanted her on prozac and I cancelled the perscription. In

the past she was on zoloft for two months and she felt it was not

working. I dont want her on anything.

So I have found that taurine (amino acid) is suppose to help with

anxiety but she has only been on it for one week. I have to increase

it next week. Then she had bad pains from her period very painful that

has only happened a few times. So I felt it was hormones even the

anxiety. Oh she also has tics since she was nine.

She is a good eater and bad. SHe eats lots of raw veggies, but craves

choc, ice cream and sweets.(that is why she has alot of pain during

that time of the month)

I will have to do more searching about the armour. For I have never

heard of it.

I have epilepsy so I have done alot of research on that and very

occupied on that topic. I am doing very well so I have more time to

other health issues which I did not have in the past.

Is there other natural things other than armour? WHat is it exactly?

AN herb and what can it be taken with since I am on medication? My

mom takes meds for her heart?

How long does it take to get into your system? Are there doctors

out there that believe it? That is always a problem.

What side effects is there to worry about?

Thanks

Look at the name of this group---Natural Thyroid Hormones----Not $ynthroid,

Levoxyl, Unithroid, or Levothroid. Since your daughter has NO thyroid at

all, this IS what she's missing. Our own healthy thyroids used to make ALL

seven thyroid hormones. There is a reason for it having had made all of

these, for they are all used in different systems of the body. If a

person's body tissues can't convert T4 to all of these other hormones, that

person is in critical trouble. Also, different body tissues can't convert

T4 into anything, they MUST have the direct form of T3, T3, or T1, without

having to convert it to anything. T4-only does not allow this to happen, so

certain body systems will suffer for as long as a person is on a synthetic

T4 med, for as long as that person takes it, AND it will only get worse,

never better. Armour. It is the most similar to our own natural thyroid

hormone output, before we all got so sick.

My new doctor said my thyroid blood tests are normal. So I guess she's planning

on keeping me on Synthroid even tho I'm having a lot of pain, chronically

fatigued & depressed. I suppose I'll have to get the lab report from her to ask

you folks what to do next based on what I can tell you is on the report. I don't

know what else to do at this point otherwise.

Hi, ,

Welcome! So glad to have you join us! I'm so glad your daughter's

problem was caught early!

in VA.

Hi, I just thought I give everyone a hello. My daughter and I have

hypothyroid and so does my mom and sister. My daughter is born without

a thyroid, she is 14 years old. She does not have any true problems,

it was caught at the age of 10 days old, thank god for that. SHe does

have anxiety problems that just seemed to begin about a year before

her first period, that would not have anything to do with her thyroid

right???????

I have been checking hormone issues also.

thanks
