Wierd Feeling before it all Began

A general feeling of unwell and sometimes dizziness can come about with the

onset of a virus. Lyme is definatly a good thing to check into, but Herpes

is a virus as well. There are two types of Herpes the Symplex2 that most

people associate with genital herpes and the Symplex1 that is usually

associated with cold sores. Doctors are becomming more and more aware that

Symplex1 can occure in the genital area as well as the mouth. I have had

VVS, LS and chronic yeast infections for years, but I never even thought

about herpes before. I am pretty conservitive sexually, my husband is my

only partner and we have been monogomous and happy. I have been tested a

number of times and my doctors always told me that I don't need to be

concierned that I have no trace of symplex2 and of course I have symplex1

because I get cold sores. It wasnt untill recently that I noticed that

before I would have a bout of vv discomfort that seemed like LS symptoms I

would sometimes have a small bump or two on the clitoris or on the perinium

that was sore. I have been tested again and same conclusion. My doctor

finally saw me when I happened to have the sore (which is hard to do unless

you can get in the same day). And he told me that yes, these could be cold

sores, that with symplex1 sores on the genitalia are often small and not as

easily noticed, and that they could be responsible for general irritation in

the area. I have since noticed that I will often get coldsores at the same

time as one or two little bumps down there with irritation. Since my

surgery for vvs in 2001 my symptoms are dramaticly improved, but I do still

need to control ocassional flare ups with Estrace Cream. I now wonder if

" harmless little cold sores " have been a contributing factor all along. Its

funny you mention a general feeling of feeling bad before your symptoms

began. Before getting cold sores or the bump or two down there. I will

sometimes experience a general feeling of unwell just like before a cold or

something. Sometimes I will even get a tingling feeling in the area I am

going to get a cold sore. If you look that up they call that " Protodome "

just like auras before migraines kind of a warning of symptoms to come.

Next time I notice a bump I am going in to see my doctor again and if we can

catch it while it is still there and he is able to determain that it looks

like a cold sore he said he may try the herpes medication with me. But he

wont do it unless it is plain as day to him. You see the problem is that

most of the popluation has Cold Sores and most cold sores still occure on

the mouth, so the blood test for it is virtually useless unless the doctor

sees them while they are flared up. So I guess I could see how something

like this could go undiagnosed for years.

I'm not saying that what you have is Herpes, a general feeling of not being

well could be anything. I'm just sharing my experience and giving you food

for thought.
