Hi all

The part about eating your green veggies and fruit really struck a nerve with

me. I eat lots of fruit daily and yes, green veggies too (and this has been

all my life) and it hasn't seemed to have helped me in not getting fibroids

or at the very least, prevented them from getting bigger. Meanwhile, my mom

and sister who are aren't good girls and don't eat a lot of fruit and veggies

don't have fibroids! You just have to take everything with a grain of

salt...especially your veggies...lol.

Rhonda.

I agree with you Rhonda! I am the picture of health ...ate right my entire

life... so thin too and am involved in competive sports...so why so I get a

fibroid at 52 for the fist time in my life? You are what you eat... but I

doubt that fibroids are started or stopped by veggies and fruit alone.

The good thing is that they did emphasize that a fibroid diagnosis

does not equal automatic hysterectomy, so hopefully women who read

the article will question their docs about the " necessity " of hyst.

And it's funny how that so few of us had ever heard of something that

affects over 50%of all women until we are diagnosed with fibroids

ourselves. It seems that different diseases become " media darlings "

and you see articles about them everywhere. I remember years ago

everyone seemed to be talking about endometriosis, and in the past

couple of years I have been reading alot about PCOS (polycystic ovary

syndrome), maybe this could be the year of the fibroid.
