Thanks so much for describing you thigh and butt lifts for us. Keep us (well,

at least me) informed about how you fare over the next month or so. This is

something that I am interested in doing myself, more so than the arms

(probably never!) or the bust. And Other than your comments, as SGT Schultz

used to say, " I know nothing, NUTHING!!! "

Well, folks:

I'm 16 days out from my hip(butt) lift and thigh lift. Only a few minor

problems. Have thought often of some of the troopers who have gone before

me and realized I was having a good recovery.

The hip lift extends the tummy tuck incision around the back, dipping down

to the butt crack (medical term...look it up ;-) creating a lovely

heart-shaped scar. It's really looking good....he did lipo at the bottom of

the back and did not undermine the skin much but pulled it down as well as

the butt/hip up. It got rid of those wrinkles under the butt which I didn't

even care about. I just wanted rid of the stuff that hung over my pants at

the bottom of my back. Only fallout from this one was one day of leaking

where a seroma (pocket of fluid) from the lipo found its way to a weak spot

in the incision. Yuck. The first part of the day I thought I was bleeding

to death, went to the doctor and it stopped just as he arrived. It started

again later, leaked out overnight, and he syringed out about 4 ounces the

other day. There's a little piece of string sticking out near the area but

you can bet I'm not pulling that one!

The leg lift is really doing its job, but recovering from it is a little

more problematic. It hurts to sit a lot, but is finally easing up. He made

an incision down my inner thigh from my groin to about 4-6 inches above my

knee. It's really not visible from front or back. At the top of the leg,

in my crotch, is a horizontal scar making the whole thing form a " T. " This

incision was not healing very well toward the front, so he re-did the front

1.5 inches of each side 2 days ago. Just xylocaine. It wasn't so bad, but

the anticipation on top of the fatigue was a real bear. One side is

perfect, the other side isn't perfect but it a lot better and may just be a

little swollen. I'm still glad I went through with it. I would really

encourage this T-shape configuration because they can really pull the leg

tight with the vertical scar. Men have hair...women have hose. My brother

had veins removed there for his heart surgery and his scars, which were

stapled, have faded. I think a horizontal-only incision along the panty

line would not allow enough " lift " and it certainly isn't the most ideal

place for healing.

I've kept up my protein and rested a lot. Can anyone tell I just went to

Starbucks and am wired on sugar and caffeine??????

Fondly,

*************** the fatigue is something you just can't factor in with these

things. I was astounded at how tired I was after my revision. HOW DARE I BE

Anita:

Between yesterday and today a bunch of swelling has gone down and they are

looking good. The vertical scar is not going to be a vanity problem.

Getting the " panty line " to heal quickly is tedious. Even at 2.5 weeks, I

can pull stuff until it actually weeps a little blood.

I *did* buy one of those toilet seats that clamps onto the regular one and

raises it about 8 " It wasn't much help at first, but it's a lot of help

now. I'm actually emailing standing up!

I've been fortunate...no clots or infections, but I'll be glad when I can

really use my legs again. I'm dying to go to the gym!!!!!
